Advanced Zoom Imaging Technology. Designed to

withstand the most extreme rigors of industrial imaging

with enduring precision, Fetura Zoom Technology

features an innovative electronic linear rail design yielding

unprecedented optical zoom speed and accuracy.

Capable of zooming across its 12.5:1 magnification

range in less than 1 second, Fetura approaches the speed

of digital zoom without resolution loss or ambiguous

software estimation. And its non-linear field-of-view

calibration removes distortion and centration errors. The

magnification accuracy and repeatability.

metrology software. PowerMetrix is powerful control

repetitive measurement tasks, thereby automating

your entire inspection process, including all the tools for

precise image processing, coordinate data acquisition, and

geometric calculation. Direct output to Excel ensures

compatibility with your custom reports and analysis

tools. For detailed analysis of surface shapes and forms

for each lens cell propels Fetura across its 12.5:1

magnification range in 0.8 seconds, ten times faster than

traditional cam-based zoom lenses. Plus, it maintains its

exacting optomechanical precision over 1 million cycles

with minimal performance degradation.

Image Navigator™

Finding your way around a

complex part using a magnified

image can be a daunting task.

Our new Image Navigator

provides a separate digital

camera with macro lens

that shows a huge field-of-

view, so it’s easy to identify a feature of interest. Simply click on a

feature in the Image Navigator, and Fetura’s stages automatically

position to it.

Automated IlluminationLED illumination is fully programmable for

intensity, direction, and angle-of-incidence.

Plus, our real-time Auto Light Control

automatically sets the optimum intensity

during program playback. If you’re molding

the same part in different colors, or if

surface reflectivity changes from sample

to sample, you’ll appreciate not having to

constantly “tweak” your programs.

Advanced Scripting EngineFor specialized applications that go beyond

the standard software tools, PowerMetrix

includes a highly sophisticated

scripting engine using the

industry standard Visual Basic

language. Advanced users

have complete control over

the system’s motion control,

image processing, data

analysis, and output to create customized

metrology solutions.

Multisensor IntegrationWith our optional laser

scanning system, both laser

autofocus and high-speed

area scanning are easily

accomplished. In addition,

dense point clouds can

be rapidly acquired from sculptured surfaces. Data can then

be analyzed in the optional PowerMatch software where it is

compared against the CAD model. The resulting deviations are

shown in an easy-to-understand graphical format.

Color Edge DetectionIn addition to exacting grayscale

edge detection, Fetura can also

allow automated measurement

of edges that are formed by

subtle differences in color. This removes the need for “manual

pick” points due to insufficient grayscale contrast, thereby

extending the application envelope.

Easy-to-Use Software InterfaceRoutine measurement tasks are easily programmed through

the PowerMetrix GUI. PTB certified fitting algorithms ensure

the highest precision in its class. Plus, we’ve included graphical

animations that illustrate key concepts and construction methods

to optimize training time and make it easy for new users to learn

the system.

Flexibility, Versatility and Power in a Single PackageTo meet the needs of diverse manufacturing sectors, PowerMetrix® includes a unique set of tools to solve most any non-contact measurement application. In addition to the standard geometric measurement functions, it also provides several innovations:

Integrated Machine CAD Model – A functional 3-D CAD model of the Fetura Vision Metrology System can be displayed in the PowerMetrix screen. In addition to showing the machine movements and measurement results during an inspection, it may be used to simulate the cycle when creating programs and testing offline.

Image Stitching – Use PowerMetrix to create an image of your part in its entirety, even when it’s larger than the field-of-view. Simply position the start and end images of your part with the system joystick, and PowerMetrix will scan in-between and automatically create the mosaic image.

Multipoint Autofocus – For systems not equipped with the laser scanning option, this tool provides a convenient way to measure a grid of up to 40 x 40 points in one autofocus scan, for detailed surface topography maps.

Edge Scanning – Without any knowledge of the profile of your part, this tool can follow the edge until it returns on itself (for a closed contour), or between a start and end point. Data point density may be set by the user. This is ideal for irregular geometric features.

PowerMatch Fitting & analysis 3D Comparison to CAD Model for Complex SurfacesPowerMatch® works with coordinate data point clouds (whether generated by a Fetura system or some other device) and compares them to the theoretical CAD model. In this way, higher order 3-D curves and surfaces can be analyzed as a group for conformance to the design. In addition, PowerMatch can provide 2-D analyses such as cross-sections, circularity, and profile, etc.

Design – During the design phase, PowerMatch can be used to compare data from engineering prototypes, preliminary mock-ups, or reverse engineered components.

Process – After design approval, verification of the manufacturing process is critical. PowerMatch can verify the precision of tooling, and graphically display the effect of independent variables (temperature, material, etc.) on the dimensional characteristics of the finished component.

Assembly – PowerMatch can be used to test for deformation of components in assembly fixtures, and to check for dimensional changes due to duty cycle or environmental factors.

Quality Assurance – The detailed color-coded deviation maps output by PowerMatch can be an important part of the quality documentation delivered to your customer.
