Optional designs (on request):

– Higher number of fibres– Universal low smoke zero halogen

sheath for internal/external use– High Density Polyethylene (HDPE)

sheath also available– Chemical resistant polyamide sheath– Second sheath in either polyethylene

or ULSZH

Features:

● The GRP rods provide rodent protec-tion along with excellent crush and impact resistance

● Maximum protection through use of GRP for all rods, without any fillers

● Installation tension up to 6000 N● Suitable for direct buriel● Improved abrasion resistance● Totally non-metallic● Standard black LDPE sheath for

protection against UV radiation● Longitudinal and lateral waterblocking● Interstitial dry waterblocking as standard

in multitubes● Fibres colour coded according to

TIA/EIA-598, for easy identification● Temperature Range:

Unitube:– transport/storage: –20°C to +70°C– installation: –5°C to +50°C– operation: –20°C to +70°CMultitube:-– transport/storage: –30°C to +70°C– installation: –5°C to +50°C– operation: –30°C to +70°C

● Crush Resistance: 2000 N up to 24 fibres, 4000 N for cables with more than 24 fibres

GRP Armoured cables consist of one tube containing up to 24 optical fibres or mul-tiple tubes each containing up to 12 optical fibres. GRP crush resistant rods are heli-cally stranded around the loose tube, providing significant extra strength and resi-stance to rodents, then a PE sheath is applied.

Applications:

Wherever extra high strength is required. Ideal for direct burial in the ground and otherexternal applications where higher protection is required. Also applicable for installa-tion in ducts and for other external requirements, e.g. structured wiring systems innetworks for telecoms, cable TV and broadcasting. Its non-metallic core permitsinstallation in high voltage environments. Suitable for short span aerial applications.

Quality Standards

All Tyco cables are designed and manufactured in our dedicated modern facilities and all activities are controlled within ISO 9000 systems.

All our products have undergone extensive type approval testing to IEC 60794 (EN 187 000) and IEC 60793 (EN 188 000) using our up to date testing facilities. Copies of test reports are available on request.

Zero Halogens And Other Emissions

Tyco LSZH/ULSZH materials meet therequirements of IEC 60754 Part 1 and 2,and also Standard NES 713 for toxicity.

Low Smoke Properties

Tyco Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH)and Universal Low Smoke Zero Halogen(ULSZH) sheathed cables meet the re-quirements of the IEC 61034 Part 1 and 2“Smoke Emission” test.

Special Requirements

We realise that many applications require special cable properties. Tyco have long experience of designing cables in response to customers´ specific needs.

Examples are: ● military applications

● extreme low temperatures

● flexibility: ability to maintain performance after repeated tight bending

● water resistance under high pressure

● customisation through special print or colouring of jacket, tube, buffer or fibre

Polyamide Chemical Resistant SheathIf you need a chemical resistant cable, Tyco has the expertiseand knowledge of where these types of cable have been utilis-ed and can show you how substantial savings can be made.

The polyamide material has been used in airfields, naval basesand oil refineries. The material is characterised by excellentchemical resistance having no known solvent and providesprotection against acids, metallic salts and petrochemicals. Its resistance to hydrolysis is good.

Polyamide has been tested against many substances andbelow are the results for some of the most corrosive chemicals. If you have a specific requirement please contact Tyco.
