FIFTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME “You ain’t seen nothing yet!” “I consider the sufferings of the present to be as nothing compared with the glory to be revealed in us.” Ours is a God of great bounty. His many gifts (especially the gift of his Word) spread out over the world like so much seed. What becomes of the seed that falls into our lives is our business, but we do well to remember that God’s will is an effective will. God’s word “shall not return to me void, but shall do my will, achieving the end for

which I sent it.” If we cultivate God’s gifts in our lives, then we shall be ready for the harvest. If we fail to be good stewards, we are to be counted with the weeds. With our time, with our treasure, with our talents, let us yield a hundred - or sixty - or thirty-fold. This Sunday the readings are: (1) Isaiah 55, 10-11 (2) Romans 8, 18-23 (3) Matthew 13, 1-23. Year A Next Sunday the readings will be: (1) Wisdom 12, 13.16-19 (2) Romans 8, 26-27 (3) Matthew 13, 24-43. 7 Year A

Kroger Shoppers:

Have you linked your Kroger Rewards Card to MHC? It’s easy, and Kroger sends MHC a quarterly check based on the rewards points earned through this program. It does not affect the gasoline reward points you earn on the same card. If you already have an account for your Kroger Plus Card, skip to step 2.

1. Go to www.krogercommunityrewards.com. Find the “Ohio, Indiana” area in about the middle of the page. Click on the “Enroll Now” button and follow the instructions on the “Create an Account” page. 2. Sign into your account through www.krogercommunityrewards.com, NOT through the regular Kroger.com website. A page should appear with the following sections: “Find your organization”. Enter “Mary Help of Christians”. “Organization Name, Address, Organization Number”. Be sure to click on the little circle in front of the MHC information (the circle should turn blue). “Complete Enrollment”. Click on “Save” box. If you have any questions, call Judy @ 937-879-3570. Kroger Community Rewards number code to BL334 . If you are already registered, then it is automatically updated. If you wish to sign up and designate the Mary, Help of Christians Church then use BL334 or search for “Mary, Help of Christians”.

HYMNALS AND MISSALS REMOVED FROM PEWS

Hymnals, missals, and other materials are removed from the pews. We will be using a disposable worship aid each week. Please take it with you when leaving and throw

If You Can’t Receive Communion, Make a Spiritual Communion

“Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart.” Act of Spiritual Communion The Church encourages frequent, even daily, Holy Communion, but if at any time we cannot go to Mass in or out of this season of the coronavirus, we can still unite ourselves to the Eucharist through making a spiritual Communion. By making an Act of Spiritual Communion, we express our faith in Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist and ask him to unite himself with us. Here is the Act of Spiritual Communion written by St. Alphonsus de Liguori:

My Jesus, I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You. Amen.

MHC 2020 Festival Our annual Festival is a major fundraiser for the parish so we are looking for ways we can recoup some of the lost revenue. Here are some things we have planned. We will still have the Mary, Help of Christians Raffle along with the ever popular Treasure Trove. (Both will be a little different than normal.)

RAFFLE TICKETS: Are located on the Raffle Tickets table in the church gathering space this weekend. Tickets are also available at all doors. No searching required—just “grab & take”. Each envelope will contain 8 books of tickets and a letter explaining the raffle process which will be slightly different this year. Dates and Hours for Treasure Trove will be Friday, July 31 10:00AM– 6:00PM, Saturday, Aug. 1 10:00AM– 8:00PM and Sunday, Aug. 2 8:00AM-3:00PM. Treasure Trove Donations: Drop off hours @ the Parish Center by Mary statue are Monday–Friday from 10:00AM– 2:00PM. Workers are needed for treasure trove to help sort and price items. Used books may be dropped off at the same place and hours as Treasure Trove. There will be a table marked “Books”. We may need a few other workers to help. We will have a sign-up sheet available this week.

now and the end of the growing

season. Your produce will support the St Vincent DePaul

Society's food pantry. Just place the produce in the blue
