It’s 50 years since Alan Zoeftig and Mick Carter first laid down the principles of product innovation, design ingenuity, aesthetic appeal and exceptional quality that have characterised Zoeftig seating solutions ever since.

It’s a blueprint that has served Zoeftig remarkably well. Half a century later, we are the supplier of choice for the aviation industry and our groundbreaking products can also be found in railway stations, bus depots, cruise and ferry terminals and waiting rooms the world over.

In 2017 Zoeftig became part of the Figueras Group. A partnership that only serves to strengthen our position as a global leader.

Today, led by CEO, Paul Williams, Managing Director, Mandy Williams and Design Director, Ian Coates, Zoeftig’s zeal for pushing back the design frontiers remains undaunted. We are more committed than ever to developing the iconic seating solutions of the future and increasing our presence on the global seating stage.

The original vision of the two founders is still alive and well, with company operations extending into the wider transport, healthcare and judicial industries, as the company seeks to lay down foundations for success for the next fifty years.

Zoeftig, a name that has been setting the standard for public seating solutions since 1969. Right at the very forefront of public seating design, Zoeftig is renowned for its creative and design led approach and has been behind many of the industry’s most innovative developments.

For the past 50 years, Zoeftig has been designing and developing public seating solutions that are a perfect combination of practicality and style, flair and function. Time and time again, we have delivered pioneering products that have tested design parameters and achieved new benchmarks in quality, performance and durability.

Zoeftig is established in London. Mick Carter and Alan Zoeftig commence the design and manufacture of contract furniture.

THE TOP END RANGE Zoeftig manufactures

an iconic domestic design by Peter Crutch.

The Top End range, still in production

today, is a simple yet stylish design and

remains as iconic now as it’s ever been.

ON THE MOVE Zoeftig finds the lure of Cornwall’s clean air and beautiful scenery too much. The operation relocates to Old School House in Jacobstow, Cornwall.

THE FAMOUS ZENKY Over a year in development, Zoeftig launches a product that will go on to enjoy massive success. First installed at McCarran Airport, Las Vegas, the Zenky beam seat secures the company’s reputation as an aviation seating market leader and can now be seen in airports all over the world.

FLYING HIGHER! NEW OWNERSHIP. CEO, Paul Williams, Managing Director, Mandy Williams and Design Director, Ian Coates bring new direction and added impetus to Zoeftig.

INFINITE OPTIONS The inFINITE seating system, with its exceptional inherent flexibility, breaks the mould in public seating.

KUNMING CHANGSHUI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT 17,000 seats were installed.

LARGEST AIRPORT INSTALLATION A total of 26,000 seats are now installed at McCarran Airport, Las Vegas, positioning Zoeftig as a leading global player in the aviation public seating industry.

Every project is different and aesthetics are as important as any other factor in a seating installation. Zoeftig seating can be manufactured in almost any finish or colour. From upholstered seating to fully moulded polyurethane, powder coated steel and brushed steel to veneered plywood. The possibilities are limitless.
