In the Past technological convergence saw 1 movie on 5 reels of film. In terms smaller studios, were taken over by bigger companies such as MGM studios.

Iphones and smart phones allow users to not only use it as a phone device but watch movies play music.

Everything will be accessed on one device. And all companies will be owned by one Parent company causing a monopoly.

Lots of people went to the cinema to escape their everyday life, giving them inspiration to achieve. Gave people enjoyment. It was relatively cheap to view films at the cinema, plus as people didn’t have TV’s they would go regularly

Cinema cost more, as the industry itself spends more and they have to make a profit, from the consumers. As a result of this, people downloading free films of the internet as they don’t want to pay the price of the cinema.

There wont be any need for personal expertise, as everything can be viewed online including all sorts of films. Most people will be expecting everything to be online and free and cinema’s could go down hill and also DVD sales will drop vastly.

Past = 2004 saw the height of users downloading films of the internet at a

high.

Present = Users are able to buy and download movies from multiple sites. However the internet allows users to download movies for free.

Future = Ability to download films in seconds. The film business will be

extremely low, with too many people downloading illegally.
