Film Studies Assessment

I have decided to look at Sylvester Stallone as my chosen director. I will be looking into the Rambo franchise and how they were filmed and what techniques and tricks he used during filming. I will also talk about the camera work and editing techniques he used in the films and how he blended this with the sound to make a perfect

action sequence. I will also look into mise en scene of the film and how he chose the outfits for the films to match with the theme of the film. I will also look into the planning for the films and where he got his ideas from and how he put them into production. I will compare some of his older films to his new ones and how they have changed through times and adapted to the new action templates for movies. I will then talk about the history of the films and about the times they were brought out and how this changed the films approach at certain aspects to the film. I will also look at how much money each movie made in box office and when they were the most popular sales and peak time of sales. I will talk about how the film fits into to its genre and look and competing films of a similar genre and how they may have similar aspects to Stallone’s films.
