• Often operates the camera, adjusting focus, exposure, lenses and filters

• Design the physical environment of the film, to suit the mood of the script

• Supervise many people including: illustrators, scenic designers, model makers, painters, carpenters, electricians, set decorators, costume designers, makeup and hairstyling artists
