FILM/MUSIC EXPLOSION! CALL FOR FILMMAKERS

Since 2003, the Film/Music Explosion! has opened each night of the 3-day $100 Film Festival (www.100dollarfilmfestival.org). The Film/Music Explosion! is an opportunity for local emerging filmmakers to create a Super 8 film based on a song. Each film is accompanied by a live performance of the song during the festival.

This year’s Film/Music Explosion will be partnering with music organizations + festivals to bring the best musical talent that Calgary has to offer.

We are looking for:

-­‐ Local filmmakers who are interested in creating a short film on Super 8 to present in collaboration with a local band (specific bands TBA).

CSIF will provide:

-­‐ Equipment, three rolls of Super 8 film + processing for filmmakers -­‐ Artist fees for the filmmakers (based on IMAA rates $50-$75 per artist)

Deadlines:

-­‐ Submit a statement of interest in the project via email before NOVEMBER 10th 2012

-­‐ Interested filmmakers will be given links to songs and bands and will be asked to submit a synopsis and band choice before NOVEMBER 19th 2012

-­‐ Selected filmmakers will need to have their projects shot and ready to send to processing by JANUARY 8th 2013

-­‐ Final edits of the film need to be finished before MARCH 1st 2013
