Final Magazine Proposal

Genre and Target Audience

My music magazine is going to be targeting different genres such as Hip-Hop, Rap and RnB. The magazine will be called “Codeine”. My target audience will be both boys and girls aged 11 to 19 from unemployed to middle managers in companies who are living to become innovators. My magazine will come out once every month so that every time a person buys the magazine there are new advertisements, interviews with popular artists and more information on concerts, upcoming albums and more.

Reason For Choice

I have chosen to make this type of magazine because this is the type of magazine that teenagers would want to buy and read. Teenagers like to see things like posters, information on new songs or albums and concert information in magazines because those are things they can go and see, have up on a wall to keep and things to listen to and having these things in a magazine makes it more appealing to my target audience.

Potential articles for my magazine would be exclusive interviews with artists like A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige and more artists. There will behind the scenes articles telling the audience about what goes on behind the scenes of a music video and there will also be small biographies about how artists made it into the music industry.

Front Cover and Message This magazine will be promoting the success of the musicians

in the magazine and will also be promoting the faith and belief in an individual showing the audience that everything a musician has done to be successful can be done with the faith and belief of any individual who wants to make something of their lives and be known for it and become successful.

On my magazine cover I will have a bright background, a big bold title that says “Codeine” in capitals. In the centre I will have an image of a person in sophisticated clothing posing for the camera. Around the main image of the person I will have puffs, graphic features, a headline anchorage and a slogan at the top of the title in smaller writing.

Interests/Hobbies: I like listening to music such as Hip-Hop, RnB, Rap and Old Skool music. I play basketball and football. In my spare time I compose beats on my laptop using FL Studio 10. Some of my favourite artists are Wiz Khalifa, Nas, Notorious B.I.G, Alicia Keys and Wale.

Ideology: In my mind I value hard work and dedication because that is one thing I do the most which is work hard and dedicate myself to my work. Without hard work you would not get anywhere and without dedication you would not have the willpower to push yourself to become what you want to be. I believe that if you have a dream to be the richest man in the world or to be your own boss and own your own business, you should chase that dream until you make it to where you want to be.
