President’s Report for November.Members,someveryimportantmattersweredealtwithatourCommitteeandGeneralMeetingthismonth.Therewillbeaquestionnairesentbyemail regarding the future direction of theHVFAA andhow itwill affect you. Wewould like you to read it and respond,alsoastrategic plan will also be sent to you mainly by email for yourinformationofwhattheCommitteehasplannedforthepositioningoftheassociationtohaveusamainmajortouristattractionandartprecinct.WehavefinalizedourDraftYouthGrantforanartcoursewhichwe intend to publicise inviting youth of Hasting area to apply. Acommitteewillbesetuptooverseetheapplications. It is intendedthat following a review of the work submitted, the successfulpersonwillbepresentedwithasumofmoneythatwillgotowardstheirfurtherartstudies.Atthisstagewewon’tbeabletoannouncehowmuchitwillbeworthasweneedtoapproachHastingbusinesscommunity for sponsorship. The committee decided to take thisapproachasourcontributiontoourartandyouthcommunity.It’sSummerShowcasetimeagain!Entryformsareavailableandthisyearwehavemanagedtoachievestrongsponsorshipsupportwhichisverypleasing.IwouldliketothankMariaNolanoureditorandvicepresidentforhelpingme toget this good resultwith theBusinessCommunity.The official opening of our Confluence Exhibition is on 19thNovember at theManning Regional Gallery so I hope it’s a goodattendance from our membership to support those who wereselected. I know some are disappointed that their work wasn’tchosenbuttherewasonlyevergoingtobe30oddworksselectedfromthethreeartsocieties.Lastbutnot least,you’re invitedtotheChristmasParty. ItwillbeheldinOxleyParkbehindthegalleryonthe6thofDecemberat12.00pm.Wearesupplyingabarbequeandyouareaskedtobringaplate of salad ordessert. Therewill be no furthermeetings thisyear until February so Iwill use this opportunity towish you andyourfamilyallthebestwishesfortheChristmasSeason.BestRegardsBrianBarker
