Getting Started Features of your new Finger Strengthener

Your 321 STRONG Finger Strengthener has just a few moving parts, which we will go over together.

Specifically designed to meet the requirements of guitar players, it is also great for stress relief and general finger training. Your finger strengthener is a fantastic piece of rehabilitation after hand surgery or stroke. It features a curved base to really hug your palm, for rapid finger movements. Each of the 4 keys can be pressed downward, exercising the fingers. Each finger key provides a consistent level of resistance, 4 lbs.

Hold the finger strengthener comfortably in the palm of your hand. One finger at a time, depress the finger key, index finger, middle finger, ring finger, pinky. Do this ten times for a set. You can repeat this motion over and over until you tire.

At the same time, depress the index and pinky fingers (the outer fingers), then switch to the middle and ring finger, (the inner fingers). Do this ten times for a set. Our goal is going to be four sets per workout, and over time, you’ll increase the speed at which you can perform the reps.

Hold the finger strengthener outside your hand, with the skinny part of the base holding onto your index finger. This will allow you to use the first finger key with your thumb. Depress the finger key, slowly. Hold it in the down position for a count of three. Do this ten times for a set. You can keep repeating until the thumb feels exhausted.

Really, any pattern will work here, but to demonstrate, we will “riff” a pattern of index, ring, middle, pinky. (1,3,2,4). This simulates the movements of your fingers on the guitar fret board, and will really improve your dexterity! Feel free to change up the order, or make longer sequences. Repeat as desired. Your goal is to get the keys in the correct order each time, and to increase the speed at which you can do that.

Here, we’re going to press down three of our fingers, omitting one. First, omit the index, then the middle, ring, and finally the pinky. Whoa, the ring finger is really hard to do! Keep practicing, the goal is to be able to use your fingers in combination, building the brain-muscle memory. Repeat as desired, it can get frustrating, especially as the fingers tire.

Depress two fingers at once, starting with the index and middle, then the middle and ring, finally the ring and pinky. Do this ten times for a set. You can repeat this motion over and over until you tire.

Just like an endless wave, we’re going to use the index, meddle, ring, pinky, ring, middle, index, middle, ring, etc. Keep this back and forth wave going, going faster and faster to build dexterity and agility.

Choke up on the finger strengthener, so that the middle of your thumb is in the middle of the base of the unit, and your fingertips extend well past the finger keys. Right where your fingers meet your palm is where we will be doing our squeezing. As you have less leverage, it will be much harder to squeeze the keys all the way down. And, as this does not use the finger muscles, as much as it does the muscles used for grip strength, it is a nice compliment to the other workouts.
