RESEARCH

I study migrant farmworker youth as a discrete model for understanding the mental health and socioemotional

consequences of alternative (non-typical) pathways to adulthood. Specifically, I focus on the unique circumstantial and

cultural stressors experienced by immigrant youth in the U.S. without adult supervision and the respective health and

developmental implications of migrant youth’s “adult-like” behavior. I apply quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods

in my research.
