INTRODUCTION An independent investment broker and public insurance

Through chapters across the United States and abroad, the American Red Cross provides essential relief services after emergencies such as multi-state natural disasters. Additionally, the Red Cross responds to smaller-scale emergencies, including more than 66,000 home fires annually.

FIRE SAFETY EDUCATION Relying on a workforce of 95 percent

volunteers, the Red Cross offers training and education aimed at reducing death and injuries from house fires. Specifically, Red Cross programs encourage all households to install smoke alarms on every level and to develop a fire escape plan that is practiced regularly. Educational programs also promote safe cooking habits and the installation of carbon monoxide detectors.
