FIWE is a National Level NGO, Established in 1999, registered under Indian Societies Act of
1860. It is one of India’s premier Institutions for entrepreneurship development and
empowerment of women and youth at large.
FIWE has wide reach with an all India Network of 35,000 individual members and 22 States
Level Association affiliated to FIWE.
FIWE has been working with agencies of National & International repute like Sector Skill
Councils (SSC), DGET, Ministry of Skills Development & Entrepreneurship, NABARD, SIDBI,
UNIFEM, ADB, ILO, UNCTAD, etc in policy formulation for the growth of MSMEs.
FIWE is skill assessment body, have assessed more than 3.25 Lakh number of candidates
with more than 1350 highly qualified assessors since 2008 under PMKVY – RASCI, HSSC,
Ministry of Textiles – ISDS, Women Development Corporation, Bihar, DGET- Modular
Employable Skills (MES) Courses as well as Candidates who have acquired Skill informally.
FIWE also has expertise in doing the need analysis for CSR spends and has been involved
with Impact Assessment studies with various government and private organizations, to
submit detailed reports highlighting the ground realities and impacts of CSR projects.
Business Counselling & Entrepreneurship Development Program
Sector specific counselling on various business opportunities for Women entrepreneurs & MSME. One-to-one
business counselling is done voluntarily by existing member entrepreneurs who have also undergone training in
professional counselling. Making available business ideas, schemes, available incentives and use of incubation
centres across India.
Micro Credit Linkage Program
• FIWE initiated Micro Credit awareness Program on wide range of financial services including small loans, saving account etc. to those women who lack collateral. in order to expand their business or start a new one, they are also provided with guidance on financial products and services.
Skills Assessment
• FIWE as Assessing Body, assesses the competencies of persons trained under Modular Employable Skills (MES) Courses as well as Direct Candidates who have acquired Skill informally.
Content Development & Certification
• Study different sectors and prepares the question bank under SSC & SDI schemes to assess the candidates under certain sectors.
Market Linkages
• Cell has been created mostly to meet requirements of SHG; to market their products through various mechanisms like HAAT, exhibitions, export houses and corporates
Online Skill Assessments
• Fiwe Online Skills Test – Online test developed which is under testing phase.
Impact assessment
FIWE adopts a detailed methodology in doing the Impact Assessment by mapping our Researchers and Interviewers to assess the overall impact of the training by using multiple techniques to provide Impact Assessment Report.
The 5th International Women Entrepreneurs Summit & Exhibition was organized by the FIWE
in association with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (Kingdom of
Bahrain) & the Indo-African-Arab Women Chamber of Commerce (IAAWCC).
The conference aimed to bring together women entrepreneurs, leaders, professionals,
consultants, company executives, academicians and representatives of international
organizations & governments from all across the globe to create a strategy for mutual
sustainable development.
There were action oriented discussions & dialogues
among the women entrepreneurs in developing world.
It was an effort to show the global community that
the current developing economies are leading the way
in women empowerment..
FIWE is an independent third party organization, not involved in training programs and hence offers a most impartial assessment thereby ensuring quality of training and credibility of the Scheme.

Have offices in most of the states of India, with approx. 30-40 accredited examiners in each state subject wise who functions with in a defined framework meeting local and regional requirements.
Sector Skill Councils (SSCs) are industry-led bodies to skill development affiliated to NSDC (National Skill Development Corporation) , who would be responsible for the defining the skill needs, concept, processes, certification, accreditation of their respective industry sectors as per NSQF Guidelines.
FIWE is affiliated & doing assessments with the following Sector Skill Councils:

NSQF (National Skill Qualification Framework) is a quality assurance framework. It organizes qualifications according to a series of levels of knowledge, skill & aptitude. It is an outcomes-based approach. Composed of ten levels, each representing a different level of complexity and knowledge.
• NOS (National Occupation Standards) is the measurable performance outcomes required from an individual engaged in a particular task. These standards can form the benchmarks for various education and training programs.
• Assessments: ▫ Competency Based Assessment : the process of collecting evidence and making
judgments about whether competency has been achieved; to confirm whether an individual can perform to the standards expected in the work place.
▫ Performance Based Assessment: The individual performance is measured in the workplace for contribution
▫ Student Learning Evidence: the evidence of student work that will demonstrate the extent to which students have met the stated goals/objectives.

Follow scientific and well design skill assessment technique of competency based
testing, taking into account the QP/NOS assigned for each trade.
Having the advantage of logistic support and local resource person, use of regional
language is more effective in conducting the assessment.
The testing criteria covers both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, including, viva
test as well. More focus performing the practical task. The question paper would be for
theory, practical, viva, attitude test and safety requirements.
Maximum number of candidates per trade does not exceed more than 20/30 per
assessor.
The duration of competence tests will vary according to the

Attitude & Skills through Practical test using simulated work environment, skill
demonstration with observation on safety, cleaning, handling of tools, problem
solving approach etc.
Knowledge through Written test using different types of objective
Continuous up dating of Test items (Question Bank) in line with the SSC trade QP/NOS.
Empanelment of qualified & experienced Assessors after accreditation with competent
authorities to meet the growing need of quality skill assessment.
Induction training of each assessors on assessment methodology and periodic re-
training to maintain the uniformity in assessment irrespective of location and Assessor.

Step 1: Confirmation / Rejection of assessment allocation based on specific criteria
Step 2: Finalization of date of assessment in consultation with training partner and availability of assessor on the date.
Step 3: Uploading of the assessment schedule. Approval on the assessment schedule and thereafter generation of attendance sheet etc.
Step 4: Sending the assessment documents to assessor / state coordinator, Confirming the assessment date to TPs, in-addition to assessment procedures and instructions.
Step 5: Dispatch of question paper to assessors.
Step 6 : Conducting the assessment as per the procedure designed. Continuous monitoring during entire duration of assessment.
