The Engineering Department at NMSU offers a variety of classes to help you learn about all kinds of different aspects of the computer. These classes are neatly packaged in a couple of majors: Information Engineering Technology (IET) and Information Computing Technology (ICT), the second one is a distance learning program.

Learning the parts of a computer from the ground up, not just the common input/output devices.

This will not only help with fixing minor/major hardware issues with your computer, but will also help you in deciding what you want when you buy a computer.

Time for Spring Cleaning...The inside of a computer needs to be cleaned out just like you need to clean anything else. I does not need to be cleaned out often (unless in a high dust/particle flying area). About once a year it should be cleaned out so as not to lead to problems.

This could lead to you having a great site that gets millions of viewers...now about that dream business you want to start up.

How do all the business computers have access to the same files?

Networking- its not just your contacts.

Whether its a few computers in an office, a building full of hundreds of computers, or just a couple computers connected for public use, connecting computers is an art.

Why is the Network so slow...

Many things can lead to a slow network, such as: slow computers, looping, damaged wires. This can lead to trouble for people getting information or saving information.

Help I Been Hacked!

Hacking is something no one should have to go through. However, There are a few things that can be done to prevent this like unique passwords, anti-spyware, anti-malware and so on.

At NMSU you will learn about the different sercurity options, technologies, etc to help you and every computer you work on to be safe from any kind of attack.
