Integrated Controls

Place the book block into the clamp andstart producing books. Operation startswhen pressing both Start buttons atthe same time. The integrated controlsensure high precision at any timeavoiding any kind of spoilage, from thefirst book to the last.

Closed System withDry Air InjectionThe combination of airproof PUR tankand dry air injection offer considerableadvantages compared with open tanksystems: There is no need for periodicreplenishment of the glue, complexcleaning or protection of the glue tank.When dry air is pumped into the unit, thelife of the glue is prolonged, this providessignificant savings on time and money.

The self-closing PUR nozzle preventsany reaction until the glue is applied tothe spine of the book. Many hours oflabour can be saved each week thanksto the automated cleaning feature. Thisusually takes less than 10 minutes tocomplete, making the machine very easyto maintain.

PUR and EVAThe FKS PrintBind KB-4000 PUR workswith a unique closed PUR applicationsystem. The volumetric slot nozzleensures that PUR glue is accuratelyapplied on the spine at any time. Easyand safe replenishment of PUR glue canbe done in pellet or block form.

For even better adhesion and fasterprocessing of books, the KB-4000 PURprovides active EVA hotmelt side gluing.

One of the KB-4000 PUR key attributes isits easy-to-use touch screen. This includesthe complete set-up of the machine,including all functional parameters. Evennipping time and nipping pressure canbe adjusted.

Heavy Duty Milling and Notching

The heavy-duty milling and notching toolensures that an accurate and flat spinepreparation is provided prior to gluing.

High Productivity

The closed PUR application system offersvarious advantages compared to opensystems, especially with regards to costand productivity as waste and downtimes are minimal. Furthermore theclosed PUR System does not need any airextraction, due to its minimal emissions.
