KICs – 5 „must” conditions

1. Having already existing excellence in mind, the potential for growth must be decisive factor for the KICs choice – hence the active presence of NMS is an absolute must. Here the EIT will not be just a mere addition, but shall have a very strong positive leverage effect.

2. To be successful, the KICs creation should be an essential part of a regional development strategy, as this may also assure larger and easier to gather resources.

3. KICs should from the outset amalgamate with the local knowledge community.

4. The initial number of 3 KICs should be increased as soon as the will and resources give assurance to their quality and stability.

5. The attraction of young talents should start as soon as possible, even before a formal setting of the KICs. It can be done via dedicated named EIT grants. We are ready for that.
