Flexi-Crete Penetrating Concrete Sealer

(PCS)

Flexi-Crete PCS

Flexi-Crete Penetrating Concrete Sealer (PCS) is a ready to use, non-toxic, concrete sealer for waterproofing concrete surfaces.

Flexi-Crete PCS is designed to strengthen, harden, dustproof, and waterproof concrete floors.

Flexi-Crete PCS

Penetrates the concrete by reacting with the free lime.

Seals the pores and capillaries by forming a silica gel.

The silica gel hydrates and solidifies, thus increasing the strength of the concrete.

It dustproofs, hardens, strengthens, and waterproofs old and new concrete surfaces.

Flexi-Crete PCS

Use of Flexi-Crete PCS for Waterproofing Seals the porosity in the concrete due to deep penetration.

 Allows the concrete to breathe.

Can be used on the negative side.

Brick bat coba, and various other waterproofing coatings can be avoided.

 Seals hairline cracks.

Use of Flexi-Crete PCS for Waterproofing Flexible Penetrating Waterproofing System

Water leaks through cracks formed due to thermal expansion and contraction.

Flexi-Crete PCS and Flexi-Crete SC 300 can provide a‘Flexible Penetrating Waterproofing System’

Flexi-Crete PCS

 Areas of Application Concrete terraces

 Podiums

 Terrace gardens

 Most concrete surfaces

Flexi-Crete PCS

Use of Flexi-Crete PCS as Floor Hardener Concrete floors at factories, warehouses, malls, etc are subjected to continuous activity.

Concrete is porous, and the continuous use often causes them to have a problem of dusting.

Thus concrete floors need to be treated suitably.

Types of Treatments For Concrete Floors

 Kota Stones

Advantages Disadvantages

Strength and durability Multiple joints

Can be polished to have gloss Overall system cost is high

Substitute to tremix flooring Requires skilled labour to install

Types of Treatments For Concrete Floors

 Epoxy Coatings

Advantages Disadvantages

Widely used & Easily available Surface coating, hence limited life

Various colour options available Can be scratched easily

Good dustproofing qualities Requires continuous maintenance to good performance

High abrasion resistance(Needs thicker coatings, which are expensive)

Requires skilled labour for application

Outdoor applications not possible and it may not be UV stable

Comparison

Property Flexi-Crete PCS Kota Stones Epoxy Coatings

Hardening Increases hardness No floor hardening. But stones have good strength

No increase in hardness

Sealing of porosity

Seals almost all the porosity on the concrete

Covers up all the porosity. However the joints are troublesome.

Seals porosity 100%. However requires periodic maintenance and recoating.

Maintenance No required Required every time the joints open up

Improves abrasion resistance

Improves abrasion resistance

Poor abrasion resistance

 Areas of Application Factories/Industries

 Warehouses

 Heavy Pedestrian Foot Traffic Areas

 Parking Facilities

Flexi-Crete PCS

Advantages of Flexi-Crete PCS Strengthens and hardens the concrete surfaces

 Dustproofs concrete surfaces

 Waterproofs concrete surfaces

 Increases abrasion resistance

Reduces the penetrations of oils, water ,etc

 Densifies concrete

 Reduces efflorescence

Surfaces treated with Flexi-Crete PCS can be painted/plastered without use of a primer, etc.

Ready to use and easy to apply.

Application Procedure

Clean the concrete surface, and make sure it is free from dust and other contaminants. Pre-wet the concrete surface with clean water, using a low pressure garden sprayer, and

allow the surface to dry. Once the top surface of the concrete surface begins to dry, start spraying

Flexi-Crete PCS uniformly with a low pressure garden sprayer. There may be spots on the concrete surface that may dry off quickly. Re-apply Flexi-

Crete PCS on those areas. After 24 hours, apply the second coat Flexi-Crete PCS on the concrete surface in a

similar manner. Please note that no pre-wetting is required before the application of the second coat of Flexi-Crete PCS.

Allow the concrete to air cure for 7 days, after the application of second coat. The surface is ready to use from the 8th day onwards. To get a shine on the treated surface, buff the surface using a hogs hair pad of around

500-800 grit, depending on the amount of shine required. Please note that one coat of Flexi-Crete PCS is sufficient if it is applied on a

smooth surfaces such as tremix surface, parking floors, warehouses, etc. Two coats of Flexi-Crete PCS are required wherever the concrete surface is not smooth, such as concrete slabs, etc
