This install guide outlines the recommended installation for your Flo by Moen system. It provides the necessary information on how to install the system and make it a smooth process for both you and the homeowner. Let’s get started!

InstallationSTEP 1Locate and turn off the main water supply valve

STEP 2Relieve water pressure by opening as many fixtures as possible

STEP 3Install the Device on the main water line after the manual shutoff and after the pressure reducing valve (if applicable)

Do not solder fittings with the Device on the line. Doing so risks damage to the DeviceUse the Installation Spacer if neededPosition the Device with the arrow pointing in the direction of the flow of water into the home (Flo by Moen can be installed in either a horizontal or vertical position)On well systems, install the Device after the well pressure tank with 100 mesh or finer wye strainer

Note: DO NOT install the Flo by Moen device on fire sprinkler or suppression systems or hot water distribution lines.

After Installation

STEP 5Turn off the fixtures opened from Step 2 and check for any possible leaks in the installation

STEP 4Slowly turn on the main water supply and look for any possible leaks around the point of installation

Note: For outdoor installations, a weatherproof receptacle enclosure MUST be used.

STEP 6Connect the power adapterIf there is no outlet nearby you may have to drill through the home’s exterior wall to an interior outlet. Verify that there are no pipes or obstructions behind the wall before drilling. (You may also wish to purchase a power extension cord)

STEP 7Verify LED status

Valve LED is solid green when valve is open; solid red when closedStatus LED is green when connected to the home’sWLAN; Status LED is blinking green when connected to the home’s WLAN but there is no internet connection; Status LED is solid white when there is no connectionto the home’s WLAN or internet connection

Run a Health Test

1. Open the Flo by Moen App and navigate to the Control Panel.

2. Turn off all the fixtures and tap ‘Run Health Test’. Note: Health Tests take up to 9 minutes.
