  2. 2. FLORENCE Florence is a city in the north of Italy . Is the center of metropolitan area of aprpoximately half million of population.
  3. 3. Florence began as a settlement for veterans established by Julius Caesar in 59 a. C. The settlement quickly became an important commercial city. Florence is the urban nucleus in which it originated in the second half of the fourteenth century artistic movement called Renaissance, and is considered one of the cradles of world art and architecture.
