Dear Graduate,Congratulations are in order as you come to the conclusion of your ministry preparation at Asbury Theological Seminary. Much has occurred during your journey here. Friendships have been formed, spirits have been shaped, souls have been healed and minds have been enlightened. Our God has been faithful.

May the same rugged faith that brought you to seminary take you on to higher heights and deeper depths into the heart of Jesus Christ. May the overflow of your life in God touch those you are called to serve.

This brochure provides a schedule of events surrounding graduation. Please check the deadlines and RSVP dates for all events listed.

Wednesday, April 25 Deadline to make reservations for Graduation dinner

Thursday, May 3 Deadline to reserve childcare for graduation1 p.m. Graduates’ Chapel

Friday, May 1112 p.m. Administrative offices will close Caps and gowns must be picked up before this time. 6 p.m. Graduation Dinner Wycliffe Bible Translators, 11221 John Wycliffe Blvd., Orlando 32832. The dinner is complimentary for graduates and one guest. Additional guests may attend for $25 per person. RSVP by April 25 to Debi Andrews at 407.482.7550 or [email protected]

Saturday, May 12 Graduation Day!8:45–10 a.m. Commencement Rehearsal and Official PhotosRequired for all graduatesPlease assemble at Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) de Orlando, 1557 N. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, FL 32825 (just around the corner from the Seminary). You must bring your cap, gown and hood since official group photos will be taken at this time only. Find your assigned seat as directed.

1-2 p.m. Open House Asbury Seminary Florida Dunnam Campus

This event is for ALL graduates, relatives and friends. It will be a great opportunity to show your family and friends where you have been studying for the last few years. (No food or snacks will be provided.)

2:15 p.m. Commencement Assembly Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) de Orlando

Required for all graduatesBe at Iglesia Cristiana (Discípulos de Cristo) de Orlando, 1557 N. Chickasaw Trail, Orlando, FL 32825 at 2:15 p.m. sharp for commencement lineup.

3 p.m. Commencement CeremonyIglesia Cristiana (Discipulos de Cristo) de Orlando Graduates will receive a gift from the Alumni Office.

Caps and GownsCaps and gowns will be available through Liz Castro, in Student Services, from Tuesday, May 1, until noon on Friday, May 11. Gown rental is $63.60 including tax for graduate students and doctoral students. Gown rental is required for graduates attending commencement. Gowns will be distributed upon receipt of payment. Checks must be in by April 30 and must be made out to Cokesbury. Gowns must be returned to Liz before leaving the church following graduation. If there are any questions, please feel free to contact Liz at 407.482.7570 or email [email protected].

Commencement ChildcareChildcare reservations for commencement must be made by Thursday, May 3. If childcare is needed, contact [email protected] with your reservation. Childcare is limited to children age six and younger.

DiplomasActual diplomas will not be in your folders at commencement. When all grades are entered and records are cleared, degrees will be posted to transcripts and diplomas mailed. Please allow four to six weeks’ processing time from the end of the term in which you graduate, and be sure to provide the Registrar’s Office a current address. You may update your address in AIS>>Biographical or by emailing [email protected]. GradesGrades will be posted as soon as they are submitted and may be accessed through oneATS. Grades will not be released over the phone or by fax. Official transcripts can be requested by logging into oneATS and going to AIS>>Student (or Alumni)>>Order Official Transcript. Transcripts can also be requested in person at the Office of the Registrar on the Kentucky Campus or at the Student Services office on the Florida Dunnam Campus. Official transcripts may be requested in advance and held until degree is posted.

Information ServicesSeminary graduates will automatically be transitioned to the Alumni version of oneATS and retain their Seminary email addresses. The ATLAS library database will continue to be offered as a resource for research needs. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions. PhotographsIndividual professional photographs will be taken of graduates. Proofs will be available online after May 21 at www.jenadamsphoto.com using password “asbury”.

Attendance is required at both rehearsal and commencement unless the graduate has notified the registrar in writing that their degree will be received in absentia. If you have any questions, please email [email protected].
