WHAT IS HIGH TWELVE?
High Twelve is an association of Master Masons who desire an hour or so of Masonic fellowship, independent of the formal ritual of Lodge procedure.
A Masonic Social Club With A Purpose
THE BASIC PRINCIPLES
AND AIMS OF HIGH TWELVE ARE:
(A) Practicing the great lessons and truths of Masonry without trespassing on the principals and prerogatives of the Fraternity. This includes perpetual encouragement to attend and participate in Blue Lodge activities and service to Brother Masons.
(B) Unification of Master Masons in an association where fellowship develops into lasting friendships.
(C) Encouragement and promotion of the Public School System.
(D) Participation in constructive and non controversial community activities.
(E) Identification with a State and International High Twelve organization whose goals include the GENERAL WELFARE OF MANKIND.

CLUB VISITATIONS BY STATE OFFICERS
When invited, or if making a previously announced visit; You SHOULD be seated at the Head Table. DON’T FUSS IF YOU ARE NOT! If you are to be the Main Speaker, determine the Club’s time schedule and ALWAYS remain within that time frame. Nothing is more appreciated than a speaker who gives his message and retires. If you are not the Main Speaker but are asked for remarks, keep them just that, remarks. Five minutes maximum.
25
If you are attending in order to conduct business with the Club’s Officers, do so BEFORE or AFTER the scheduled meeting; NOT DURING THE MEETING!
“DROP-IN” VISITATION
All Clubs are pleased when the “Brass” attends. However, you do not want to become “Brassy.” Unless specifically invited by the presiding Officer to sit at the head table, find a seat among the Brethren. Remember, they would all like to get to know you better. We all return to the same level at some time. If asked out of courtesy to make some remarks, do so with extreme brevity. The Club’s schedule for the day is already filled through advance planning. Please remember...you are representing the State Association and your actions should bear that in mind. Your Club visitations should be a time for Masonic Fellowship, not problems.
RESPONSE TO INVITATIONS
Invitations to a High Twelve Installation, for example, should be answered immediately, either by accepting or declining, if unable to attend. Your delay in replying places the Club in an embarrassing position by leaving them without a decision for organizing the seating arrangements, also for the number of meals to order.
PUNCTUALITY Punctuality is not something that has just come into vogue. Louis XVIII stated the maxim, “Punctuality is the politeness of Kings ... and the Duty of all good people

SUGGESTED SET-UP FOR INSTALLATION
Too often, thought is not given to securing a dining room with sufficient space to allow an area of at least ten (10) feet between the Head Table and guest seating. This amount of space is necessary to accommodate the new Officers as they line up for installation. Remember there must be space allowed for an altar.
The Installation Committee may have this in mind, in fact, even relate this to those in charge of setting up the dining room. However, in as much as restaurants are not used to this type of arraignment, they may need to be REMINDED again on the morning of the function.
Unless due precaution is exercised, you may arrive at the banquet only to find inadequate space has been
provided.
Or course, you want everything to go smoothly; for this is the one big opportunity to impress a Brother Mason who may be a guest, but not a member of High Twelve.
HEAD TABLE COURTESY
If the meal is a “sit down” affair, remember those seated at the head table are ALWAYS
(continued on next page)
SERVED FIRST.
If the meal is a “Buffet," arrange for those seated at the head table to go first, with the honored guest first in line. This is just common courtesy.

WHEN TO PICK UP THE MEAL TAB
If the State President or any other State Officer visits your Club for lunch or dinner, as an invited guest, the Club should offer to pick up the tab, also pay for his Lady, if she is in attendance.
CORRECT SEATING AT HEAD TABLE OR SECONDARY TABLE
Starting with the Lectern in the center (preceding from left and right) seat: MAN then WOMAN until the last two spaces then seat WOMAN - MAN, with a MAN on the end.
A Lady should never be seated at the end of the table.
THE CORRECT USE OF PLACE CARDS
If you use place cards at the Banquet Table, and you should, and if you want to be correct, DO NOT use the Ladies given names if accompanied by their husbands.
In introducing the couple, the Master of Ceremonies may correctly say, Mr. John Jones and his Lady Ruth.
To use Ruth Jones on the place card (or addressing an envelope) indicates she is either widowed or divorced.

SAMPLE INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS
Obviously, the incoming President should confer with his Club’s Past Presidents regarding procedure, due to their experience. Remember, at the time of installations there are usually so many scheduled that our State Officers attend only those to which they have been invited to participate. Visit as Installing Officer, Chaplain, or Marshal. The out-going President will open the meeting by asking the Chaplain to offer a prayer asking for divine guidance. This is to be followed by the pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of our Country. 1. Presidents welcoming remarks (brief)
2. The CLUB PRESIDENT will introduce the
visiting Dignitaries, Masters of Lodges, High
Twelve Area Directors, etc.
(See introductions)

SUGGESTED PROTOCOL FOR INTRODUCTIONS
Head Table: If there are two or more Head Tables, start with those at the lower tables and work upward. The higher the rank of Officer, the more reason for him to be at the uppermost table. When introducing persons from the floor, we suggest you utilize this order, the highest ranking person should be the last to be introduced. This gives that person the opportunity to speak before closing or other activities begin. The following is PROCEDURE: Always remember the highest ranking
individual is always the last to be introduced. When introducing a couple, be they at the head table or in the assembly, it is suggested you use: “May I present Brother Jones and his Lady” rather than Brother Jones and his Wife.” Often you may not know for sure if the Lady in attendance is the wife or a lady friend. Play it safe! It can save embarrassment for you and for the couple involved, and it sounds much more professional.

GUIDELINES IN FORMING NEW HIGH TWELVE CLUBS
1. To organize a new High Twelve Club, call on key Masons in the area, explain High Twelve, ask for names of other local Masons, enlist help in recruiting prospective Club members and set a time, date and place for the first organizational meeting. 2. Get an existing High Twelve Club to sponsor the new club. 3. Invite officers and members of the sponsoring club, also a representative of the State Expansion Committee and one or more State Officers to attend the organizational meeting. 4. Before incurring any printing or other promotional expense for which reimbursement is expected, obtain approval in advance through the State E.R.A.M. Committee. 5. Obtain from the State Secretary a supply of requisite literature and forms, including brochures, blue cards for signing up Charter members, charter application form, sample Club Constitution and By-Laws, and By-Laws of the Florida State Association of Masonic High Twelve Clubs. 6. Decide on a name for the new Club, membership dues and meeting time, days and place. 7. When a blue card is signed by a Charter member, he gets half of the card and the Club retains the other half for its records. Do not send signed cards away. 8. Arrange for election of club Officers: President, Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary, Sergeant-at-Arms, Masonic Representative and Club Directors (usually 3). The Club Chaplain is usually appointed. 9. Prepare Charter application, listing Officers, Directors and Charter members in alphabetical order, with addresses, zip numbers and Masonic Lodge name and number (if any). Proofread carefully, also check home Lodge receipt to be sure that each member is in good standing. Make two copies of the application, retain one for the Club and send the original to the State Secretary. 10. A fee of $10.00 for each charter member should accompany the charter application. Make check for the total amount, payable to High Twelve International.
