Advocacy News Stand with Low-wage Workers - On November 10, working people will stand up together for a day of action calling on corporations to stop pay- ing wages so low that we can’t make ends meet and demanding that the New York State Senate pass a $15 minimum wage statewide for all workers. Rallies will be held at 12pm in the Empire State Plaza and 5:30pm at the East Capitol lawn, with other actions during the day. For more info, or if you plan on attending, contact Joe - [email protected] 518-290-0268 Food is a Human Right – Join us on Monday November 23 as FOCUS with the Faith and Hunger Network will call on elected officials to make ending hunger and poverty a priority, and insist that “Food is a Human Right.” We will gather at Emmanuel Baptist at 10:30am for an interfaith reflection on hunger, speak to the press and walk to the Capital to deliv- er legislative priorities to state lawmakers. IGNITE Event November 5th Christ’s Church Serve Albany event, Ignite, is right around the corner on November 5. This event is a great way for lots of people to find ways to serve in our city. FOCUS will be there! The FOCUS Winter Breakfast will be open Thursday, November 26th. Help is needed (6:30 am- 9 am) serving, floating, cooking, dishwashing, coffee making...
