Folding Circles... A Floral Fascination From six circles create a 12” multi petalled design. Simple in essence but has great potential for experimental play. See how this novel and unusual concept can be expanded and developed in many ways for use in quilts, wall hangings, accessories and home decor. Embellish and embroider by hand or machine for added creativity. Suitable for every ability, it’s fabric fiddling for all. A uniquely different technique from Jennie’s latest book ‘Material Magic’. In this class you will learn and understand the technique and be able to complete the design after class. Requirements for one Floral Fascination Two 9.5 x 105cm (3¾ x 42”) strips in different colours (Black and White used here for left and right hand flowers). Six 18cm (7”) squares (Turquoise shown here in left nd right flowers) Thread to match fabrics Sewing Machine + regular foot (Hand sewing is acceptable but less will be accomplished) Marking pen/chalk/erasable pen in contrasting colour to fabrics . Preparation 1. Sew both 3¾ x 42” strips together to make a 7” wide band. Press seam open and flat. Cut strip into six 18cm (7”) squares. 2. Make 60° triangle and 6” circle card templates. Tip: Cut out roughly from paper, stick paper onto card - cut round outline carefully. (If you have a Sew Easy 60° or EZ 60° acrylic templates, or similar, this can be used as a substitute for the triangle card template.)
