Congratulations to Brian Poarch(Class of ’90) on being inductedinto the Richard Bland CollegeAthletics Hall of Fame on January20, 2018. Poarch is RichardBland’s fifth class inductee and wasa member of the men’s basketballteam from 1990-1992.

They say “Once a Viking, always a Viking.” This state-ment is certainly true for this group of 7 friends that grad-uated from BA in 1985. For the last 30+ years, they havemade an effort to meet every year or so for a mini reunion.They’ve been friends for the most part for 40 or moreyears and share a bond no time or distance can sever. Thisyear, the group turned 50 and celebrated in style in No-vember by spending 5 days in Montego Bay, Jamaica.They were given a keepsake by Tracey Owen that said“BA Girls-Best in the World.” The group is spread out allover the state of Virginia as well as South Carolina. We are excited to announce thatBrunswick Academy will be doing abrick campaign fundraiser!!! The per-sonalized bricks will be $250 eachand will be a permanent mark on ourcampus. The vision of this project isto build a patio between the B.A.Gymnasium and Lower School addingpicnic tables to allow for an outdooreating space, outside instructionalspace, and a great gathering spot dur-ing Homecoming activities. With thepurchase of a brick, you can honoryour child or grandchild, remember aloved one, honor a classmate, showyour Viking pride as an Alumni, orpromote your business. This will be abeautiful addition to our campus thatwill pave our way to the future!

Brunswick Academy held their Homecoming 2017 on Fri-day, October 13, 2017. It was great to see a large crowd fullof Alumni, Patrons, Grandparents, Students, and friends. OurBA Vikings won 63-19 against the Grace Christian Warriors.The Homecoming Court was announced at halftime and theHomecoming Queen crowned.

2017 Homecoming

On March 23, 2018, our Pre-K thru 5th Grade put ona fantastic program for Grandparents/Special FriendsDay! The theme was Happy Trails - Vikings Gone Coun-try! They sang songs like “Dirt on my Boots”, “HoneyBee”, “On the Road Again”, “Five More Minutes” andmany more! It was such a special day!
