• Pakistan Metrological Department issued the weather forecast for 29 to 31 July 2015 and a high flash flood may be generated in Indus River at Taunsa and hill torrents in DG Khan Division. • Moderate to high flood expected in river Sutlej at Ganda Singh Wala. • Heavy rain may continue in Sindh and D G Khan and increase in rain may generate high flash and urban flooding in extremely vulnerable and catchment areas.

District Chitral - (Damages and Losses) :-

• Infrastructure has been badly affected such as roads, bridges, water supply schemes, and irrigation channels. • Agriculture standing crops were also affected due to flash floods and nearly 1,200 acres of crops (maize, potatoes, rice, tomatoes and pea) was washed away. • Livestock mortality was marginally high and approximately 3,633 small and large ruminants were reported as dead. Moreover, 213 feed/fodder stocks were also lost.

• National and Provincial Government departments are busy in rescuing the flood affected peoples and also providing emergency relief support.

• For saving the lives of affected people, Food packets/ration, tents, shelter including blankets are being distributed by NDMA, PDMAs, SDMA, GBDMA and ARMY.

• Chitral Food Department has a stock of 74,000 wheat bags and would be sufficient for only next months.

• Cooked foods were also provided to affected peoples by some organizations and philanthropists.

• For saving the lives of livestock, Government livestock and dairy development departments are busy in vaccinating the animals, providing feed/fodder including UMBs.

• Food Security Cluster has been in touch with Government authorities and in case of help would extend its efforts to support the peoples.

• In response of meetings with multiple stakeholders and current monsoon floods situation, drought assessment has postponed for time being.

• Methodology and tools for assessment is being discussed with all stakeholders in Sindh and after incorporating their comments, same will be discussed at Islamabad later on.

• Detailed outcomes of the meetings with Sindh’ stakeholders will be shared with FSC members in coming days.

• FSC has tried to triangulate the HEA model into drought assessment and met with relevant counterpart, come to conclusion, FSC would ensure to include the maximum components, although, FSC drought assessment tool has already cover maximum part.

47,160 Families were returned in the year 2015 till 23 July, including 2,037 Un Registered or Non NADRA Verified families In returned caseload, nearly 20% were female headed households.
