Protein In order to understand where waste occurs in the value chain and where we should prioritise our action, we have established waste profiles for 25 of most frequently purchased products. For each product we have worked with our producers and suppliers to collect data on the levels and causes of food waste, both in the field and during processing. This information has been combined with waste data from Tesco operations and WRAP data on levels of waste in the home to give the following food waste profiles. In order to understand where waste occurs in the value chain and where we should prioritise our action, we have established waste profiles for 25 of most frequently purchased products. For each product we have worked with our producers and suppliers to collect data on the levels and causes of food waste, both in the field and during processing.

This information has been combined with waste data from Tesco operations and WRAP data on levels of waste in the home to give the following food waste profiles. We are using this data to create tailored waste reduction action plans for each product and we will look to extend the learning from this work to other products not listed below.
