The brains behind the concept, Sidas founder LoïcDavid, was keen to find an alternative for the manysheet materials on the market which were difficult tocombine effectively and hard to handle and store.In 1997, Patrick Boismal and the Podiatech R&D Department invented OPCT®, short for Orthèse Plantaire Composite Thermoformable (ThermoformableComposite Plantar Orthotic), a combination of pre-assembled materials which can be used as a customisable starting point by adding other elementsbetween the different layers of the module.

Each OPCT® is cut out and assembled by hand by ourstaff, guaranteeing that the manufacturing processis carefully monitored and controlled.

Each of the materials used to make a module is labelled with a batch number and comes with its ownsafety data sheet. The materials used comply withEuropean Directives 93/42/EEC.

The Positiv’lab is a robust press-moulding machine equipped with a built-in vacuum pump and two independent plates. The plates are managed individually by two control valves that make it possible to make two orthotics onto a positive at the same timewithout positioning problems.
