Top Story - The Robert Morris University football team continues its season this Saturday, Sept. 15, at 1:00 p.m. as the Colonials head back out on the road to face Dayton at Welcome Stadium in an annual non-conference affair. This is the seventh consecutive season in which RMU has faced the Flyers, alternating home and road games. The Colonials, similar to Dayton, have dropped their opening two games, falling to defending NCAA Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) national champion North Dakota State (9/1) before dropping their league opener to defending Northeast Conference (NEC) champion Albany (9/8). Senior Greg Langer booted a 49-yard field goal last week while Mike Neilson posted 10 tackles in just his second career appearance in a RMU uniform. After facing the Flyers, RMU will have its only bye week of the season before returning home to welcome Lafayette (9/29) in just the second home night game in program history as part of the University’s Homecoming festivities. RMU will then travel to in-state rival Saint Francis the following week (10/6) as it begins conference play in earnest. Quick Stat of the Afternoon - Although Robert Morris has had trouble figuring out Dayton throughout its history, if one examines the two prior Colonial wins in the head-to-head series, a few trends emerge. RMU topped the Flyers in both 1999 and 2000 and one key element was its pass defense. The Colonials only allowed Dayton 161 passing yards combined in those two matchups, refusing to concede even 100 yards on either occasion. Robert Morris also went a combined 13-for-28 (.464) on third and fourth down in those two games against the Flyers while Dayton managed to go just 10-of-31 (.323) in such situations. RMU also outscored Dayton 37-7 combined in the second half of those games. In the category of what one would not expect, RMU lost the time of possession battle in both games as Dayton averaged 33:40 in those two contests. Saturday’s Opponent - The longest running rivalry with a non-conference opponent in program history, Robert Morris and Dayton will meet for the 15th time Saturday. The Flyers own a 12-2 (.857) advantage and carry a nine-game winning in the all-time series into the contest. In last year’s game at Joe Walton Stadium (9/3/11), Dayton used a pair of touchdowns, both on passes by Will Bardo, and two field goals and held on for a 19-13 win even though RMU produced a fourth- quarter rally. Despite the loss, the Colonials allowed the Flyers just 21 yards rushing on 26 attempts on the afternoon. For more information on the all-time series against Dayton, includ- ing the last game recap, please see page four of today’s game notes. On This Date (Sept. 15) in Robert Morris Football History - Robert Morris was victorious on its only prior game played on Sept. 15 in program history as the Colonials downed Saint Francis, 28-14, during the 2007 season. RMU scored touchdowns on four straight possessions sandwich- ing halftime and forced five Red Flash turnovers on the day, including posting four intercep- tions. Erik Cwalinski (2005-08) threw for 161 yards and two scores, including the first-career touchdown reception by Chris Molnar (2007-09). Eventual all-time leading rusher and current assistant coach Myles Russ (2007-10) rushed for two touchdowns on the afternoon, marking the first trips to the end zone in his career. Safety James Kazil (2004-07) recorded two interceptions while linebacker Chad Wengert (2004-07) had a monster day, recording 11 tackles while adding a forced fumble, an interception, two passes defended, a half a sack and a quarterback hurry. RMU went 4-for-4 in its trips to the red zone and never trailed in the victory. Head Coach Joe Walton19th Season - Pittsburgh ’57

At the forefront of the football renaissance at Robert Morris University throughout its 19-year history is Joe Walton, who has built the Colonials from a fledgling program into one of the top Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams in the region. The one constant associated with the program, Walton was named the first head coach July 27, 1993. He started the program from scratch, completing every-thing from hiring assistant coaches to purchasing equipment to recruiting student-athletes for the team’s inaugural season in 1994. Walton’s fingerprints are all over the football pro-gram, and to prove that, RMU has played its home games since 2005 in a stadium that bears his name. During his tenure, Walton has led Robert Morris to the

first Northeast Conference championship in 1996, guided RMU to a perfect 10-0 season in 2000 and in 2010 helped lead the Colonials to the NEC’s inaugural bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs with their league-high sixth regular-season championship. “It’s hard to believe,” Walton speaks on how fast time has elapsed. “I’ve said this many times before, and I mean it when I say that this situation is one of the best things that has ever happened to me in my life. It happened at the right time. Before this position became available, I felt I was too young to quit coaching, but I wasn’t anxious to get back into pro football. When this came along, it was the per-fect fit. This situation was the perfect opportunity for me to continue to do what I like to do, and I’ve loved every minute of it.” Under Walton’s tutelage, the Colonials have claimed outright NEC regular-season titles three times (1997, 1999, 2000) while sharing three others (1996, 1998, 2010). Walton led Robert Morris to back-to-back ECAC Bowl victories in 1996 and 1997, and in 1999 and 2000 he guided RMU to a pair of NCAA I-AA mid-major national crowns according to Don Hansen’s National Weekly Football Gazette. In 2010, Walton added to his legacy by engineering the Colonials on an eight-game winning streak for a share of the NEC regular-season title and the NEC’s first bid in the NCAA FCS Playoffs. In the process he picked up his 100th career victory in the collegiate ranks.

Game #1Dayton 19, Robert Morris 13September 3, 2011 / Moon Township, Pa.

Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 1,981) - Robert Morris dropped a 19-13 decision to Dayton Saturday afternoon at Joe Walton Stadium in the 2011 season opener for both programs. Dayton took an early 6-0 lead when Will Bardo, making his first career start at quarterback, connected with Brian Mack for a seven-yard touchdown pass with 4:19 to play in the first quar-ter. The extra point attempt was fumbled, leaving the score 6-0 in favor of the Flyers. RMU grabbed its first lead of the 2011 campaign, 7-6, by using a nine-play, 71-yard drive that was capped by a five-yard run from junior quarterback Jeff Sinclair. The Colonials rushed six times for 39 yards during the drive, including two carries for 21 yards from freshman halfback Duane Mitchell, while Sinclair completed both of his pass attempts, including a 25-yard strike to junior wide receiver Rickeem Jackson. Dayton grabbed the lead before halftime, 13-7, when Bardo tossed his second touchdown of the afternoon, this time a 27-yard completion to Luke Bellman with 1:22 to go before the break. The score was set up by the defense of the Flyers, as Steve Wirkus intercepted Sinclair at the RMU 45-yard line with 1:49 left in the second quarter. Three plays later Dayton took the lead. In the second half the Flyers extended their lead thanks to a pair of field goals from Nate Miller, who connected from 37 and 36 yards in the third quarter to help Dayton open up a 19-7 advantage. Robert Morris trimmed its deficit to 19-13 with 5:54 to play when redshirt senior running back Jamar Cromwell scored from a yard out. The big play came when Sinclair connected with sophomore wide receiver Donte Jeter for a 54-yard completion down to the Dayton one-yard line. The RMU defense held serve on the next possession by the Flyers, but the Colonials were unable to move the ball past their own 30-yard line before turning the ball over on downs with under two minutes to play. Sinclair finished 13-for-29 passing for 156 yards and an interception but was sacked eight times on the afternoon. Bardo finished 14-for-24 passing for 180 yards and two touchdowns. Mitchell led the ground game for RMU, compiling 71 yards on 14 carries, while freshman Justin Brooks finished with nine carries for 48 yards. The Robert Morris defense stifled the Dayton running game, allowing just 21 yards on 26 attempts. A total of 22 of RMU's 56 tackles as a team against the Flyers came from Colonials mak-ing their first career start, including nine from sophomore safety D.J. Myers and seven from junior linebacker Kyle Cooper.Notes: Senior tight end Shadrae King paced the RMU receiving corps with five receptions for 35 yards ... Robert Morris Quick FactsLast Time Out - Robert Morris dropped a NEC game in its home opener for the first time in program history … Senior Greg Langer booted a career-long 49-yard field goal, mark-ing the longest field goal by a Colonial in over 12 years … Sophomore Matt Layman found junior Donte Jeter for a 20-yard touchdown on a fourth down play in the third quarter … Sophomore Mike Neilson tied for game-high honors with 10 tackles, includ-ing a tackle for loss, in just his second career appearance in a RMU uniform … Senior Brad Banas matched Neilson by contributing a career-high 10 tackles along with two quarterback hurries … Junior Evan Taylor and sophomore Ryan Thermil combined for 107 yards rushing.

No Time for Panic - While getting off to an 0-2 start is not what any team aspires for, judging by its program history, Robert Morris may have a good chance of rebounding from dropping its first two games of the season. The 2012 season marks the sixth time in school history in which RMU has started 0-2. In four of the previous five such cases, the Colonials bounced back to post a winning overall record and/or a winning Northeast Conference (NEC) mark. The Colonials first started 0-2 in 1998, but they would proceed to win four of their next six games, with the two losses in that span coming by a com-bined three points, a stretch that helped RMU claim a share of its third consecutive conference championship. RMU responded to an 0-2 start in 2001 by winning six of its final seven games, each of which was by at least 11 points, and finished one game out of first place in the NEC. After starting 0-2 in 2006, Robert Morris won five straight games, including a victory over nationally ranked Central Connecticut State, and seven of its last nine games overall to finish the season on a positive note. Picking Up Steam - Greg Langer has settled in nicely as RMU’s starting placekicker, as the senior has hit nine straight field goal attempts and 13 of his last 15 in the last 11 games. Langer finished tied with Charlie Leventry of Duquesne for the Northeast Conference lead in both field goals (12) and field goals per game (1.09) in 2011. Thanks to his 27-yard field goal against Duquesne in the 2011 season finale (11/19), Langer broke the RMU school record for consecutive field goals made. Former kicker Jeff Carlo (1998-2001) had converted seven straight over the course of the 1998 and 1999 sea-sons, while former kicker Michael Walser (2005-07) closed out the 2007 campaign by hitting seven straight field goals. Langer has not taken an easy path to the record either as six of his past nine field goals have been converted from farther than 35 yards.

Seventh Heaven - Robert Morris had no trouble spreading the ball around to different targets in last week’s home opener against Albany. Seven different Colonials had at least one reception, including the first-career catch by true freshman D.J. Hayes. That figure is tied for the most Colonials with a catch in a single game in the program’s past 25 outings. In all, nine Colonials have at least one catch through two games.

No Tickets - When Robert Morris opened its 2012 season Sept. 1 at No. 1/2 North Dakota State, the Colonials had to face more than the defending national champions on the field. RMU competed in front of a hostile standing-room-only crowd whose noise was magnified by the domed stadium. In fact, the sellout of 18,769 fans marked the biggest attendance to ever witness a RMU football contest. The previous top mark of 15,805 had been set at Williams Stadium Sept. 10, 2011 when RMU played at Liberty.

Experience Counts - When taking a look down the Robert Morris roster, the Colonials seem to have a bevy of experience at the defensive line position. Defensive linemen R.J. Cook, Farren Mason, Sam Miller, Steve Mitchell, Nolan Nearhoof and Chris Thompkins have combined for 89 starts during their time at RMU. Due to injuries, each member of the sextet saw starting assignments during the 2011 season. Miller leads the way with 25 starts, although the first 22 of his career actually came when he was a member of the offensive line. Mitchell and Nearhoof both have 24 starts while Mason has earned the nod 11 times in his career.

Start Me Up - Steve Mitchell enters Saturday’s game @ Dayton with the most consecu-tive starting assignments of any active Colonial. Mitchell has started 24 straight games at defensive end. A.J. Dalton is second in that category with 19 straight starts on the offensive line. Jeff Sinclair is the Colonials’ active leader in overall starts with 27.

Game #2 • Albany 35, Robert Morris 10September 8, 2012 • Moon Township, Pa.

Joe Walton Stadium (Attendance: 1,068) - Robert Morris opened up an early lead on defending NEC champion Albany, but the Great Danes would respond and walked away with a 35-10 decision in the league opener for both teams Saturday at a rainy Joe Walton Stadium. The setback to the Great Danes, who earned votes in both major national polls this past week, marked the first time in program history in which RMU dropped a NEC game in its home opener. Robert Morris senior Greg Langer opened the scoring fewer than three minutes in when he booted a career-long 49-yard field goal, marking the longest field goal by a Colonial in over 12 years. It was also Langer’s ninth consecutive made field goal, which extended his own program record in that category. The RMU scoring drive was aided by a career-long 30-yard run by sophomore fullback Ryan Thermil. Albany, the NEC preseason favorite, responded with a five-play drive that was capped off with a 40-yard touchdown pass. The Great Danes would also launch scoring drives on each of their next two pos-sessions while RMU was forced to punt twice, allowing the visitors to open up a 21-3 advantage. RMU was driving late in the second quarter as sophomore quar-terback Matt Layman completed four passes to move the ball to the Albany 29-yard line. However, a crucial sack killed the Colonials’ momentum and kept them from scoring before the half. A long kickoff return helped setup a short scoring drive for the Great Danes early in the second half, but RMU would soon fight back. Junior Evan Taylor rushed for 41 yards, including a 27-yard scam-per, to help move the ball into the red zone in the middle of the third quarter. Facing a fourth down with six yards to go, Layman found junior wide receiver Donte Jeter who had beat his man down the right sideline, and the two hooked up on a 20-yard touchdown pass. Robert Morris forced Albany into a three-and-out on its next pos-session and was looking to get back into it, but an untimely intercep-tion set the Great Danes up with superb field position to strike again. Thermil rushed eight times for 53 yards while Taylor added 54 yards on 14 carries. Layman finished 12-of-25 passing for 121 yards as he completed passes to seven different receivers, which included the first-career reception by true freshman D.J. Hayes. Sophomore line-backer Mike Neilson tied for game-high honors with 10 tackles, including a tackles for loss, in just his second career appearance in a RMU uniform. Senior Brad Banas tied Neilson by contributing a career-high 10 tackles along with two quarterback hurries.

Last RMU GameRank and File - Robert Morris played against a nationally ranked opponent for the fifth time in school history when it opened the season at North Dakota State Sept. 1. However, it was the first time that RMU has ever squared off with a team that sat among the top 10 in the country. In fact, NDSU currently sits No. 1 in the FCS Coaches’ Poll and is ranked No. 1 by The Sports Network. The Colonials’ loss to the Bison dropped them to 2-3 (.400) all-time against ranked foes. Although Albany, RMU’s second opponent, is not currently nationally ranked, they are garnering votes in both major FCS polls, including sitting seventh in the other receiving votes section in the Coaches’ Poll. To see the latest FCS national rankings by The Sports Network, please see page 7 of RMU’s game notes.

Longer for Langer - Greg Langer’s 49-yard field goal last week vs. Albany made him just the second Colonial ever to convert a field goal of at least that length. It also marked the longest field goal by a Colonial in over 12 years.

Go Deep - The last time Robert Morris met Dayton quarterback Jeff Sinclair hooked up with Donte Jeter on a 54-yard pass that helped setup a fourth-quarter touchdown. The catch was significant because it was Jeter’s first-career reception, but the length of the play also stood out. The 54-yard recep-tion marks the longest pass play in the past 20 RMU games. Not since T.J. Green (2007-10) hauled in a 65-yard pass Sept. 25, 2010 at Wagner has a Colonial quarterback had a longer completion.

Foot Joy - One of the most important aspects that senior Jeff Sinclair brings to the quarterback position at Robert Morris is his versatility. In a 31-24 set-back @ Central Connecticut State last year (11/5), Sinclair rushed for a 14-yard touchdown in the first quarter that helped tie the game, 7-7. In 27 career games, Sinclair has already rushed for 14 touchdowns. To put that in perspective, prior to Sinclair becoming the starter under center at RMU, quarterbacks combined for 16 rushing touchdowns in the first 156 games of the program’s history.

Any Given Saturday - Entering Saturday’s contest against Dayton, there are two Colonials who would have pretty good odds of seeing the field, judging solely by their past histories. Redshirt seniors Sanchez Faugue and Sam Miller have each appeared in 35 games in their RMU careers, tops among active players. Faugue has the distinction of competing in each of the past 35 contests while Miller missed the 2010 season, but played in every game in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Seniors Steve Mitchell and Eric Lowry are in hot pursuit of this duo as they have seen the field in 34 and 33 games in their respective careers, including 26 straight by Mitchell.

Fresh Faces - As with any other year, the beginning of the 2012 season has featured the first collegiate appearances for some newer Colonials. A total of seven Colonials have made their first career starts this season, including two this past Saturday against Albany. Both Colonials to earn their first starting assignments this past week were true freshman as Max Robertson got the nod at left guard and Marcelis Branch started at cornerback. Robertson and Branch were the second offensive lineman and cornerback, respectively, to make their first-career start in 2012. Also, true freshman D.J. Hayes appeared in a game for the first time against Albany and hauled in a 15-yard catch in the second half. In total, 14 Colonials have competed in a RMU uniform for the first time this season.

Hanging Chad - Safety Cameron Chadwick emerged as a leader for the Robert Morris defense in 2011 and earned All-NEC Second Team honors as a result. Chadwick finished with a team-high 80 tackles last season, including 32 solo stops. Over his last eight games dating back to last season, Chadwick has posted 76 tackles, an average of 9.5 per game.

NEC Champions since 1996

Making the Grade - Defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof was named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Second Team this past November, becoming only the second student-athlete in program history to earn two CoSIDA Academic All-American hon-ors. Nearhoof had previously become the third player in program history to be named to the ESPN Academic All-America Team in 2010 when he earned second team acco-lades. Nearhoof owns a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.73 as a biology major and joined former Colonials Jonathan LeDonne (2001-04) and Ray Gensler (2003-06) to earn the honor. LeDonne, a linebacker, was named to the 2004 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America First Team, while Gensler, a defensive lineman, was a two-time honoree, earning second team accolades in 2005 and first team honors in 2006. Nearhoof was also named as the NEC Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the sec-ond-consecutive year. He was the fourth player in program history to claim that honor but the first to ever win it twice.

Regulation Only - Entering Saturday’s game against Dayton, Robert Morris will have gone 60 consecutive games without having a contest go into overtime. That is the lon-gest such streak in program history since the NCAA instituted overtime in college football for the 1996 season. In fact, every other current member of the NEC has played at least one overtime game since RMU’s last such contest. The last time the Colonials headed to overtime was Oct. 14, 2006 when RMU upset No. 19 Central Connecticut State, 23-17 (2OT), in what was the program’s first-ever game against a nationally ranked opponent. After Jacky Candy (2006) intercepted a Blue Devil pass right near the goal line in the second extra session, Erik Cwalinski (2005-08) hooked up with Mario Hines (2004, 2006-07) for a game-winning 14-yard touchdown pass on 3rd-and-12. That contest against the Blue Devils remains the only home game in RMU history to go into overtime.

Preseason Honors - Robert Morris had six student-athletes named to Phil Steele’s Preseason All-NEC team in his FCS preseason magazine. Four of the Colonials’ selec-tions came on either the First Team offense or the First Team defense, a figure that was tied for the most in the league among that segment. Offensive lineman A.J. Dalton and fullback Nick Groat garnered a All-NEC First Team mention while defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof and safety Cameron Chadwick, both of whom are returning all-confer-ence players, picked up All-NEC First Team honors on the defensive side. Defensive linemen Chris Thompkins and Steve Mitchell were both placed on the All-NEC Second Team. The four Colonials claiming preseason honors on the defensive side of the ball, three of whom were defensive linemen, tied Robert Morris with Monmouth for the most combined defensive players to claim such honors from a single team.

Near a Record - Robert Morris senior defensive lineman Nolan Nearhoof not only stands up in the classroom but also on the football field. Nearhoof claimed his second-consecutive All-NEC First Team honor in 2011 despite missing the final two games due to injury. In doing so, Nearhoof became just the third player in the league, on offense or defense, to earn an all-conference first team award in both 2010 and 2011. He finished fourth on the team with 60 tackles last year, 24 of which were solo stops. He also led the Colonials in sacks (7.5) and tackles for loss (12.5), totals that were good enough to rank fourth and sixth, respectively, in the Northeast Conference. Nearhoof entered his final season of eligibility as RMU's active leader in tackles (137), tackles for loss (23) and sacks (16). His 16 sacks are closing in on the program record of 19, which is cur-rently held by Ray Gensler (2003-06).

For Starters - When Robert Morris took the field last Saturday against Albany, it sported its second starting lineup on offense in its second game. However, if 2011 was any indication, Colonial fans shouldn’t be surprised. Due to a number of injuries as well as changes with the depth chart, Robert Morris used nine different starting lineups on offense last season and has used 12 different starting combinations in its last 14 games. The starters actually stayed the same for three straight weeks in October 2011, but RMU had changes in its lineup from one week to the next throughout the early and late parts of the campaign. The Colonials were forced into starting three different quarter-backs and also had five different tailbacks/fullbacks start a game in 2011. The only returning Colonial on offense who started every game in 2011 is lineman A.J. Dalton.

Head Coach-In-Waiting John Banaszak

Robert Morris University Director of Athletics Craig Coleman, M.D., announced this past January that RMU Assistant Head Football Coach John Banaszak has been named the program's coach-in-waiting. Banaszak, who has spent the last nine years as an assistant coach and assistant head coachwith the Colonials, will take over for current head coach Joe Walton at the conclusion of the2013 season. "Coach Walton has done a tremendous job starting the program from scratch and developing it to its current level," Coleman said. "We are blessed to have another outstanding coach on our staff in Coach Banaszak to provide leadership and excellence when Walton retires." The 2011 season marked Banaszak's ninth season as a member of the Robert Morris footballcoach staff, including his fourth campaign as assistant head coach. Among his many duties with the program, Banaszak is responsible for tutoring the defensive line and the special teams unit. During Banaszak's time at Robert Morris, the Colonials have led the Northeast Conference intotal defense four times (2004, 2006, 2009 and 2010) and have finished in the top five in theleague on eight occasions. Banaszak was a key component to a 2010 defense that led the NEC in total defense, allowingan average of 312.6 yards per game, and coaching a defensive line that recorded 13 of RMU's21 sacks as the Colonials claimed the NEC's inaugural berth in the FCS Playoffs. In 2006, Banaszak helped tutor an RMU defense that led I-AA in total defense, allowing anaverage of just 228.36 yards per game. Under Banaszak's guidance, former defensive lineman Ray Gensler (2003-06) tied the RMUsingle-season school record for sacks with 11 in 2006 en route to earning All-NEC First Teamhonors. Gensler also established a career record in sacks with 19 thanks to 11 in 2006, andthe Robert Morris defensive line that season recorded 28 and-a-half of RMU's school record 34sacks. Eight of the 11 players in school history to earn All-NEC recognition on the defensive line have come under the tutelage of Banaszak, including Nolan Nearhoof, who led the Colonials with seven and-a-half sacks last year en route to being named to the 2011 All-NEC First Team. Prior to RMU, Banaszak served as the 30th head coach in Washington & Jefferson footballhistory, leading the Presidents to a record of 38-9 (.809) in his four seasons on the sidelinesbetween 1999 and 2002. In each of those four campaigns, he was named the Presidents' Athletic Conference Coach of the Year and ranks third on the college's all-time victory list. A 1975 graduate of Eastern Michigan with a bachelor's degree in health, physical educationand recreation, Banaszak signed as a free agent with the Pittsburgh Steelers prior to the 1975season and was one of only three rookies to make the defending Super Bowl champion teamout of training camp. Primarily a special teams player on Pittsburgh's Super Bowl X championship team, Banaszakstarted five games the following season and then started at both right end and inside tackle in1977 before suffering a knee injury that forced him to the injured reserve list. Between 1978 and 1980, Banaszak started 45 regular-season games at defensive end as the Steelers won back-to-back Super Bowl championships. In Super Bowl XIII, Banaszak recorded six tackles, including a pair of sacks, and a fumble recovery in a 35-31 victory over the Dallas Cowboys, which garnered him Defensive Player of the Game honors. Robert Morris in the 2012 NEC StatsWatch This - Robert Morris was represented when College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) released its 2012 Watch Lists prior to the season. Senior Nolan Nearhoof was placed on the defensive end/defensive tackle list while senior Greg Langer was named to the placekicker list. Nearhoof earned All-NEC First Team honors for the second straight season in 2011 after post-ing 60 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss and 7.5 sacks. Langer made each of his final eight field goals in 2012, setting a new program record for most con-secutive made field goals, and has converted on 13 of his last 15 overall.

Get To The Chopper - A quick glance at RMU’s record when broken down proves how important it is the Colonials get off to a good start in contests. When Robert Morris is leading at halftime, the program owns an all-time record of 85-12 (.876). When trailing at the break, Robert Morris owns a mark of 10-61-1 (.146). Even going into halftime tied is beneficial, as the Colonials own an overall record of 11-8 (.579) in such games.

The Magic Mark - Since the Colonials began play in 1994 there have been 70 games in which Robert Morris has scored 30 or more points. In those contests RMU boasts a record of 66-4 (.944), including a record of 38-4 (.905) in games in which the team scores between 30 and 39 points. In games in which the Colonials score 40 or more points, RMU is a perfect 28-0.

RMU Football Historical Tidbits - The inaugural running back at Robert Morris, the late Tim Hall (1994-95), rushed for 2,908 yards in his two seasons as a Colonial. Hall still owns the FCS season and career records for yards per carry, with his season record of 8.7 yards per carry set in 1994 and his two-year career record of 7.4 established in 1994 and 1995 ... Hall also ranks fourth all-time in the FCS in both rushing yards per game (153.1) and all-purpose yards per game (194.8) ... Former Colonial linebacker James Noel (2002-05) ranks fifth in the FCS record book for career tackles per game (10.7), while his career tackle total of 437 takedowns ranks 12th all-time ... Former linebacker and current assistant coach Alex DiMichele (2007-10) averaged 10 tackles per game over his three years in a Robert Morris uniform, which ranks 11th all-time in the FCS record book ... Robert Morris has led the nation in passing defense twice in the past 13 years. The Colonials topped the charts in both 1999, when they conceded just 80.80 yards per game through the air, and 2006, when they allowed only 88.70 yards per game via the pass.

Did You Know? - Robert Morris owns the all-time FCS record for the most consecutive quarters while holding an opponent scoreless. During the 1996 season, the Colonials went 15 straight quarters without allowing a single point. In fact, the record-setting streak occurred at the beginning of the sea-son. RMU posted three straight shutouts -- 20-0 against Mercyhurst (9/7), 38-0 against Butler (9/14) and 7-0 against Towson State (9/21) -- to open the campaign and then held Central Connecticut State (9/28) scoreless for the first three quarters before finally allowing a point for the first time all sea-son. In all, RMU went 234:04 before allowing a point in 1996. RMU went 9-2 (.818) in 1996, claiming a share of the NEC championship, and conceded just 12.9 points per game.
