Curley Culp –Curley Culp –Kansas City ChiefsKansas City Chiefs

"Every center in the league should have to go against Curley in order to know what it’s like to go against the very best.” NFL Hall of Fame Center Jim Otto claimed, "Curley Culp was perhaps the strongest man I ever lined up against." Culp was once reported to have broken the helmets of three teammates during a scrimmage at Arizona State University. Culp had tremendous leverage to go with his massive strength and superior quickness.

• Culp attended college at Arizona State University he played both offensive lineman then moved to the defensive side. • Culp was named First-team All-American. • Culp was the NCAA heavyweight wrestling champion in 1967. • Culp was a member of the 1968 U.S. Olympic wrestling team.

Crossover Crossover SkillsSkills• Many of the positions and skills are absolutely

transferable between both sports

• Some of those skills include but are not limited to footwork, hand-eye coordination, mental toughness, explosive movements, and balance

• Learning the ability to beat the man in front of you can not be ignored.

"We believe of all the competitive sports that our players can participate in, it's wrestling where we find the most transferable football skills are reinforced.“

Kelly Donohoe- Blue Springs Head Football Coach
