North Malabar Institute of Technology (NMIT), promoted by North Malabar Educational and Charitable Trust comprising of a few visionaries from North Malabar, was started in 2012 with a sanctioned intake of 300 students in five branches of Engineering.

If a candidate leaves the college after taking admission, he/she will be liable for forfeiture of the fees paid and also will be liable to pay liquidated damages as allowed by Govt. of Kerala.

The prospectus contains the rules and regulations applicable for selection and admission to Engineering Courses for 2016-17 and includes the procedure for admission to all seats. This prospectus is subject to modification/addition/deletion as may be deemed necessary by the management subject to further orders, if any, passed by appropriate authorities/courts of law.

INTRODUCTION

2.1 Academic Eligibility: Pass in Higher Secondary Examination Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto including Vocational Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, with minimum marks as below: General Category:

50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together or as directed by Government. 45% aggregate for management seats. Concession available for SEBC , SC & ST students as per Government guidelines.

2. CRITERIA FOR ELIGIBILTY AND FOR ADMISSION

5.1 For genuine reasons, management will have the right to deny admission to any candidate even if otherwise eligible and such reasons will be recorded and conveyed to the student.

5.2 Candidates are advised to visit the website of the college from June 2016 onwards and appear for interview and admission as notified therein. No separate communication will be sent on this account. Selected candidates shall take admission at the appointed time and date in the college after paying the tuition fees to be paid failing which the offer of admission will be cancelled.

5.3 Admission Policy : All seats are filled in a fair, non-discriminatory and non - exploitative manner as directed by the concerned regulatory bodies and the Admission Supervisory Committee for Professional Colleges, Kerala, subject to minimum eligibility norms of AICTE, Government of Kerala and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.

4.3 Furnishing false information/ particulars would result in the forfeiture of the candidature as well as cancellation of admission to the course if admitted and in addition, will attract the relevant provisions of criminal law of the land.

4.4 Merit list for admission will be published in the website/college notice boards. Selection will be in the order of merit through open counselling. The date for counselling will be published in the website and college notice board.

5. ADMISSION

5% of total intake will be filled under Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme over and above the sanctioned intake. The above seats will be filled up either by Government or by the Management as agreed by the Government.

2.2 AgestApplicants should have completed 17 years of age on 31 December 2016.

2.3 Nationality:Candidates must be citizens of India.

4.1 Preparation of Merit list and Allotment of seats: Subject to any orders that may be passed by the courts, admission will be on the basis of rank obtained in the Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination 2016 (KEAM 2016)/ marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry / equivalent subjects in the qualifying examinations, for admission to merit (Govt.) seats.

4.2 Subject to any orders that may be passed by the courts or appropriate authorities, admission to management seats shall be on the basis of rank obtained in KEE 2016/marks obtained for Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/equivalent subjects in the qualifying examination.

3.1 Formal application forms for admission can be obtained from the college office (Near Kottappara, Kanhangad - Ph: 0467 - 2440024 / 3983000 ) or from the Kanhangad City Office of the college ( 1st Floor, Dubai Complex, Durga HSS Road,Kanhangad (Ph: 0467 - 2205114, Cell 9446483848) in person or by post (Post Box No 79, Kanhangad 671315) on paymentof Rs. 250/- Application forms can also be downloaded from the website of the college. 3.2 The duly filled in application along with self- attested copies of necessary documents can be submitted directly or by registered post with A/D to the City Office so as to reach on or before the prescribed date. Applicants shall obtain acknowledgement from the office for applications submitted directly.
