Microwave Blocked Chute / Point Level Switches

Wadeco’s Microwave Blocked Chute and Point Level Switches provide non-contact detection of solids through permeable material like glass, plastic, ceramic, tile, PTFE or rubber. When product interrupts the beam between the transmitter and receiver, a contact output is initiated. The electronics enclosure is rugged aluminium, the probe is 304 Stainless Steel and thetip is PTFE coated to protect against product build up. These units are ideal for dusty, aggressive and high vibration areas. The microwave features a 200m range, and has easy setup for power, gain and time adjustments for the set and reset functions.

The APM 3D Volumetric Scanner is an innovative device that measures continuous volume and mass of materials inside a silo or open bin. The device’s Digital Signal Processor samples and analyses the received signals. The processor generates a 3-dimensional image of the surface that can be displayed on a remote screen. The unique device can then accurately determine the volume and mass of material enabling an unrivalled degree of process measure and inventory control. It measures practically any kind of material stored in a variety of containers, including large open bins, bulk solid storage rooms and warehouses, mapping loads and many other previously inaccessible challenging applications.There are over 200 installations locally.

Datexel supply a range of DIN Rail and Head Mount Signal Conditioners, with or without Intrinsically Safe Approvals. The range comprises of fixed and PC programmable inputs and ranges, with a variety of isolated or non-isolated options (Current or Voltage), such as loop powered isolators, temperature transmitters, trip amplifiers, loop splitters and converters. The devices are available with 2, 3 or 4 wire connectability and external supply options (AC/DC). Input options include RTD, TC, mV, V, mA, resistance and potentiometer, with 2000Vac isolation. Programming software allows a user to select an input type, range, output upscale/downscale burnout as well as a lineariser to modify the output curve.

Flow Switches with optional temperature monitoring

The EMA range of flow switches are rugged IP67 rated, 316 Stainless Steel probes that can withstand up to 300 Bar pressure and 150 Deg C temperature. Units are available with two switching outputs, one for flow and one for temperature. Visual indication makes control of this sensor easier, as it has a seven segment LED (temperature display) and 3 colour LED x 10 (flow display). The unit also comes standard with overload, short circuit and reverse polarity power protection. The switches can be used on gasses or liquid.

Laser Level

The LM80 and LM200 Laser Level sensor is a non-contact, level measuring instrument designed for granular solid materials and opaque liquids. Based on pulsed laser technology, the LM80 & LM200 embodies speed and accuracy in a single, easy to use and install product. With continuous 4-20 mA and two relay outputs, they can operate as a process control sensor while simultaneously providing high and low alarms. The laser pointer and long range units are the plug-and-play solution and the LM200 is for distances up to 400 metres, whereas the LM80 is for up to 35 metres.

Using Power over Ethernet technology, embedded webpages allow for fast setup and configuration. Wireless WiFi units allow for up to 15 kilometres transmission. The wireless units are small, compact and very cost effective. All wireless units have South African ICASA approval.

Ethernet HD camera’s are available with day/night function, with integral IR technology. Free motion detection and recording software is supplied.

The Wadeco Microwave Solids Flow Switch Detector detects moving solids, utilizing the microwave’s high penetrability and Doppler Effect. The sensor transmits microwaves towards the target material. Some of the microwaves are reflected back to the sensor, and are analyzed as to whether they are moving or stationery. Microwave can penetrate through build-up on the head, or even through pipe, made of non-conducting materials, such as plastics, ceramic, tile, PTFE, glass etc.

The Arkon MAG X2 Electro-Magnetic flow meters, are an innovative modular design “plug & play”, battery or main’s operated range of flow meters. The transmitter consists of a low cost basic “motherboard” unit, and offers optional low cost plug in modules, the size of a stamp, that allow the customer to only pay for features they need. For example, plug in modules such as Bluetooth, 4-20mA, Voltage, RS232, USB, Modbus, GPRS, TCP/IP etc, can be purchased, separately, at any time, as per customer needs. Electro Magnetic Flow Meters

Dinel supplies a range of loop powered ultrasonic level transmitters. The transmitters use advanced intelligent signal processing, with the mapping of false echo reflections. The range features a current output, as well as Hart, that allows for easy programming via a PC or handheld Hart programmer. Programming can also be done via the keypad. Non-nuclear Density Transmitters

Smar supply the DT301 “Touche”, which is an intelligent Density/Concentration Transmitter, non-nuclear, developed for continuous, online measurement of liquid concentration and density. This pioneer technology consists of a capacitive type differential pressure sensor, coupled with a pair of pressure repeaters immersed in the process. A temperature sensor located between the sensors compensates for temperature changes in the liquid. The software calculates the density, which may be expressed in Brix degree, Gay-Lussac degree, Baumé degree, Plato degree, % of concentration etc. Units are available as 4-20mA, Hart, Profibus or Foundation Fieldbus.
