THE 17TH ANNUAL NEWS AND DOCUMENTARY EMMY AWARD NOMINEES ANNOUNCED BY THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF TELEVISION ARTS AND SCIENCES

New York, July 22 -- The 17th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Award Nominees were announced today by John Cannon, President of The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

The Awards presentation, a black-tie dinner and ceremony is scheduled on Wednesday, September 11 at The Marriott Marquis Hotel's Broadway Ballroom, New York City.

11 The industry's growing emphasis for news and documentary programming is reflected by the unprecedented number entries -- nearly 13 00, 11 said Mr. Cannon.

The numerical breakdown, by broadcast and cable entity, is as compiled by the independent accountancy firm of Lutz and Carr, LLP, follows:
