YMCA OF HANNIBALYMCA OF HANNIBALYMCA OF HANNIBALAll kids deserve the opportunity to discover who they are and what they can achieve, under the guidance of adults who care about them and believe in their potential. We see every interaction with young people as an opportunity for learning and development.

Health and well-being are all about balance. That’s why we help people and families build and maintain healthy habits for spirit, mind and body in their everyday lives. By helping kids, adults, families and seniors from all backgrounds improve their health and well-being, we build a stronger community.

With our doors open to all, we work every day to connect people from all backgrounds and support those who need us most. We take on the most urgent needs in our community and inspire a spirit of service in return. Out members, volunteers, supporters and staff demonstrate the power of what we can achieve by giving back together.

United States through membership at your “home” YMCA (your home Y is the local association that enrolled you as a member and collects your membership

dues). We offer this because we want to help you reach your health and wellness goals wherever you live, work or travel. This is an essential part of our mission to

strengthen communities.

IN EVERY COMMUNITYWe understand that sometimes it is more convenient for members to take

advantage of a Y near their workplace or when they are traveling outside the area of their home Y. With Nationwide Membership, members have the flexibility to use

participating Y facilities throughout the United States at no extra charge.

ENT BASIC SCHEDULE FOR SWIM LESSONS

Members $37.50 per child | Non Members $64.25 per child

MAKE SWIMMING LESSONS A SUCCESS!• Swim lessons are designed to be taken multiple times, so repeating levels is a part of

the plan and not a representation of failure. Learning through play and having a fun safe environment is the goal to foster a positive feeling kids want to come back to! Learning to swim and breath control takes time and practice, swim lessons are held year round to give you every opportunity. Having strong swimming skills before summer or a vacation means thinking months ahead.

• Goggles: If your little one is interested or open to the idea of goggles we highly encourage goggles for swim lessons and swimming general. The masks that cover your eyes and nose are discouraged because when the nose is covered children are not able to work on and master breath control, another name for nose bubbles.

MISSION MOMENTMy Y Story - Joshua Davis

Joshua Davis has recently become a donor to our SCC. He has a strong heart led by the Lord to serve and help others. He has not always been this way. Joshua had grown up in a low income family that did allow many opportunities to experience youth sports or activities. This led him to veer down a not so happy road. He became a drug addict who was in and out of jail. He had no hope. No point, he felt. The Lord has delivered him from these burdens and turned them into his strength. He now is an active YMCA member who owns his own business, Davis Skidloading. He is involved with his church ministry who helps serve drug addicts as a counselor. He was moved by our SCC images around our facility and wanted to help a kid, who may have a similar life that he had

growing up. He had no idea that the YMCA did what we do and I am so happy the Lord has taken his weakness and made it his strength!

TELL US YOUR Y STORYEvery day, the YMCA of Hannibal makes a positive and lasting impact on the people in our community. From education programs, like our After-school Program and Summer Day Camp program, to wellness initiatives, such as personal training and Y Fit Evaluation, our Y strengthens the foundations of the Hannibal Community.

Now we want to know: How has the Y helped you and your family? Has your child learned new skills and made friends at Fusion? Did you run a half marathon after training at the Y? Have you learned to swim at the Y? Has your child attended summer camp at the Y and had a unique experience? Your experiences inspire us to serve you better and inspire others to lead healthier, happier lives and we want to hear from you!

Submit your story’s to the welcome center.

STRONG COMMUNITYWe are a non-profit organization and strengthening community is our cause. With your support, we can make sure that everyone who needs the Y has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Together, we have a meaningful and lasting impact on our community, one person at a time.

In the past year, the YMCA of Hannibal has provided nearly $120,000 to provide over 300 memberships to countless families and individuals, right here in our own community.

We count on the generosity of our members and community to help people be more healthy, confident, connected and secure. When you give to the Y, you will have a meaningful, enduring impact right in your own neighborhood.

In support of this endeavor, we are searching charitable support and community partners necessary to engage and address critical needs to magnify our impact in making lasting personal and social change.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIESThe backbone of every YMCA is its volunteers. These volunteers make a difference by giving caring attention to our children and teens, helping families to become successful and strong, and supporting people of all ages to strive for healthier lives.

Through many opportunities for giving, children can build self-esteem and discover personal talents at the Y. Teens can connect with peers and positive adult role models while learning leadership skills. Adults can develop new friendships and feel more connected in the entire community.

No matter how you help, you will make a big difference as you work with others to create a feeling of connectedness in your community.

Looking for volunteers that would like to have more experience in working with children in a supervised area.

Must be at least 12 years old to help in Child Watch/ Preschool

What I would say is the key to success in weight loss? Consistency! Keep going, stick to it, day in and day out, and

you will see results!

Danielle Woods-NASM-CPTDanielle has an ambition to help people be the best version of themselves. Through a balanced diet and exercise anyone can achieve results. Three years ago, she read a scripture that changed her heart which was 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, it says, “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body.” After reading

this, Danielle realized she was not doing this. So, she went through a weight loss transformation, and she has lost 120lbs. She would like to help you become stronger, more confident, and love the body God gave you.

Joe Johnson - NASM-CPTWith Joe’s background in wellness coaching and functional movement, his goal is to help you on your fitness journey and to support you in developing the best version of yourself. Rather its weight loss, moving better, or just feeling better with more energy, he is ready to be a part of your journey!

Allison Ellison-NASM-CPTAllison has had an interest in psychology and the positive effects of what exercise can do for mental health for many years. She knows that when your body is happy, so is your mind. She loves to help people be able to love themselves inside and out. Allison currently holds the NASM certification and has a strong passion for learning to make sure her clients get the best mental and physical results possible.

Joèl Richardson: NASM-CPT Joèl has always had a deep passion for fitness and people’s overall health. He spent the last 11 years in healthcare as a Registered Respiratory Therapist. In 2019, Joèl decided to change my career path towards Personal Training. His goal in this facility is to not only transform his clients bodies but also their lives for the better.

Mark Ragar: ACE-CPTT Mark has been involved with fitness for around 25 years, and got his personal training certification from the American Council on Exercise in August 2019. He is hoping to motivate and help people to achieve a more active and fit lifestyle. He wants to make exercise and being in better shape something to look forward to.
