INSAT - 3D
INSAT-3D, an exclusive meteorological satellite, is configured with advanced meteorological payloads - a !hannelImager, "# !hannel Sounder along with Data $elay Transponder and Satellite Aided Search % $escue payloads&The spacecraft platform is adopted from the standard I-'( )us with a power handling capa)ility of around ""** +
with a lift off mass of '*#* g&
ASTROSAT
The AST$SAT pro.ect is aimed at design, development, fa)rication and launch of an astronomical o)servatory forstudies of cosmic sources& AST$SAT is envisaged to )e a National )servatory which will )e availa)le forastronomical o)servations to any researcher in India& Although most of the o)servation time will )e for the use ofIndian researchers, a part of the AST$SAT o)servation time will also )e made availa)le to Internationalastronomical community on a competitive )asis&
AST$SAT is planned to )e launched )y /olar Satellite 0aunch 1ehicle 2/S01& The life of the satellite has )eenconfigured for a minimum period of 4 years&
GSAT-6 &6A
5SAT- is a high power S-)and communication satellite that will )e co-located with 5SAT-"', INSAT-6A and 5SAT-"* at 7389&The satellite is configured around I-'( )us with a lift-off mass of ''** g& It is configured with !xS andSx! transponders& The S-)and up and down lins have high 5:T and 9I$/ to )e a)le to communicate with smallerground terminals& This satellite will also provide a platform for developing technologies such as demonstration oflarge unfurla)le antenna in satellites, handheld ground terminals and networ management techni;ues that could )euseful in future satellite )ased mo)ile communication applications&
5SAT-A will )e a follow-on satellite planned to )e launched )y the end of "'th ?
