A message from our Executive Director . .

What did you think about your kids summer camp? How about their swim lessons? Have you be

    en

enjoying the new group exercise classes? How was your familys recent visit to Blackberry Farm?

In other words, wed really like to know what youre thinking because what you think affec

    ts what

we do and helps us make things better for you.

This fall, the Park District is ramping up efforts to take the pulse of the public. For the many o

    f you

who take part in our programs, classes and events, we want to bring you in on the decision-m

    aking.

It wont cost you anything other than your thoughts, so its plenty affordable. And, by taking

    one of

our quick surveys and providing your input, youll be investing wisely.

Your feedback charts our course and steers the ship. Our constituents (you) are not just a nam

e in a data base, but a valuable source we turn

to for guidance. We welcome your thoughts because were con

stantly looking for ways to grow, evolve and serve you in the best, most effi cient way possible

    .

There is no ceiling on improvement.

One of my top priorities as Executive Director is developing community partnerships and colla

borating with various agencies because we

all benefi t as a result of working together. The same holds true with our customers. A survey h

elps open doors to better communication and

    opens an ongoing dialogue.

All participants are e-mailed a program survey at the end of each season; paper survey sheet

s are also available at all community centers

during the third week of July and January. Additionally, facility surveys are available year-roun

    d at www.foxvalleyparkdistrict.org.

Remember, this is your Park District. Youre entitled to share your comments, insights, opinion

s, suggestions whatever thoughts youd like!

Were greatly interested in hearing what you have to say so we can make plans and set sail f

    or the future together.

Now you know what Ive been thinking.

Nancy McCaul, CPRPFox Valley Park District Executive Director

Our MissionEnrich our community with fun,

The Fox Valley Park District is taking a leading role in the battle against childhood obesity. Teaching children the importance of exercise and nutrition provides them a solid foundation for a healthy future. The District is a part of the partnership group that developed the strategic action principles that guide the Making Kane County Fit for Kids campaign. Those principles were used to develop the Fit Kids 2020 Plan that provides guidelines, strategies and action steps to put children on the path toward healthy living. The plan also includes initiatives and ideas that communities and residents can employ together to create an environment where children learn to make smart lifestyle choices that are benefi cial toward their long-term health and well-being.
