    THE BLACK CORE

    BLOCKADE RUNNERS OF CORUSCANT

Well, Im sure Willy will blast the

    incompetence of our current senate,

but at least for now I will lay that

argument aside. This week, a brave

group of adventurers were able to

make their way through the massive

(and growing) debris shield overCoruscant. Suffering massive damage

to their ship, they bravely and just

barely made it to the surface, with

almost a third of their ship being

ripped apart in the process. It was

only by the quick thinking of an

onboard Twilek prostitute that truly saved

the day. The pilot was silent on the

matter, but it seems that the New

Republic, in their embarrassment, ffered to

pay a portion of the incurred damages.

    Affirmative action strikes again. What

about the shuttle hull that fell through my

window? Should I get a handout too, or do

only suicidal minority fools truly earn that

right? Thats right; Im a human so I have

the honor not to do that. Perhaps

someone should teach them that lesson.

    Fred Long-Short Varley

This week, the Republic, in its massive

wisdom, had a fleet attempt to enter

the deep core of the galaxy, an area still

under Remnant control. Much like all

    government programs, initiatives, and

    even etiquette, it failed. Massively

failed. Due to their failure, which has

been blamed on massive solar storms

(seriously? This is the first lie that

    crossed the cover-up bureaus desk?),

there now exists a massive debris field

    above and around Coruscant and

    several other Deep Core adjacent

    worlds, causing a massive shutdown

    economically and politically in those

areas, as those who want to enter cant,

while those that want to leave have had

to result to suicide. Beware of the

eventual cleanup project that the New

Republic will try to mount; at least the

volunteers should be paid for their

    suicidal venture.

    RUUSAN: LAND OF NIGHTMARES

Remember my dears, back to last

week when I promised to do moredangerous tomb-raiding? Well, so did

the producers, and they forced me to

go somewhere that is nothing short of

a nightmare to traverse, the vast and

wild and lost planet of Ruusan. Why

is it so dangerous? Aside from the

fact that the only things we know of

essentially point to massive dark side

rituals and the only pictures that

could possibly point the way aremerely those drawn by religiously-

    intense zealots known as Jedi.

As such, this particular trip may take

quite some time. I will try to write

each week, but should I not write, Ill

be sure to appoint someone else to

do so for me. Anyway, it is time for

me to depart, wish me luck, Ill be

    sure to recover some interesting

treasures to show each of you. Now,

    on to glory!

    Anselm Miclyne

In all honesty, with directions written

    by untrustworthy people, rumors of

    force anomalies and monsters of

every kind of imagination, who the

hell wouldnt be afraid? This guy. To

prepare for this trip, I decided to pack

the way I did before, less even,

because I know I can overcome this

little pebble in my path. Just like I

succeeded on Dantooine, so too will I

conquer the coming task. This time, I

will need to pack a weapon because I

cannot rely on my comrades to save

me should something happen, and I

do not have enough dum-dums with

me to properly satiate any monster

    should misfortune occur.

Prisoners are jailed for a reason, and if let go andgiven weapons of all things, they immediately

turned on the local populace with a renewed

vigor to pillage and rape. The populace, largely

students due to the prestigious Trade and

science Academy, were unprepared for the

coming devastation, and the Imperial presence

was equally caught off guard since their largely

fair treatment of the local populace had

garnered so much support that they were in the

process of pulling out their troops, with peacesecured.

The criminals and their Republic backers fell

onto the unprepared and mostly defenseless

city, killing absolutely everyone, and demolishing

historic sites like the Central Academy with

    rocket launchers. Students were being

massacred right and left, so the heroic governor

MRISST: A LINE IN THE SAND

So what happened at Mrisst? I have been asked this so many times now that I thought I

might write a follow-up on the cheery picture I painted last week. Well, it seems that

there has been a major catastrophe; the entire capitols as well as the outlying

communities have been completely decimated by some supposedly unknown source.

Well, let me tell you what exactly happened there. My source got back to me and

thankfully he made it out safely, no thanks to the culprits. The city apparently came underassault by Republic infiltrators, who decided to free the local prison populace and drafted

them into a makeshift guerilla force that stormed the city. Normally, I wouldnt mind the

city changing hands, as long as the people were properly cared for and the major

institutions were left in place. However, that is hardly what actually occurred.

Lord Hethrir ordered his men to remain on the

ground and all shuttles were deployed to assist in a

    general evacuation. Unfortunately, these meager

forces were unable to hold the criminals off for long,

and in the end, only a small handful of students

made it out with the governor. With the city largely

destroyed and mostly unrecoverable, Lord Hethrir

made the only choice he could; he punished them

the only way he had left, from space. His personal

star destroyer came down and tried to put down the

prisoners, but they did the unthinkable, detonating

a nuclear device completely evaporating the city

and severely damaging his personal craft. In a

personal statement, Lord Hethrir vowed to remake

the academy, better than before, and free for all.

There is honor in war, peraps the Republic needs to

    be reminded of it.

    MYSTERIES OF

HUTT SPACEWelcome everybody; I hope that you have been well

since the tragedy that has befallen our wonderful Lady

Oregana. Today I wish to discuss the massive white

bantha in the room. Why are there so many neutral

areas, self-administrative zones, and apolitical sectors

within the New Republic? How can there be unity

when each one has its own laws, customs, and even

moral code by which it governs? This is absolutely

ridiculous. First a war for galactic northern expansion

and then major political gaffes in the home sectors,

how can the New Republic and its citizens expect

stability if any crime done within our borders is

eradicated once those borders are breached? These

are tough questions, but the real focus is the massive

criminally friendly Hutt Space that truly undermines

the rest of the galaxy for its own benefit. Scum and

villainy seems to be bred there and expedited for

export, and the only ones seeing profit are the massive

Hutt cartels. Personally, I think it may be time to

    reexamine our beliefs. We

    shouldnt expand until we can

    settle our internal conflicts,

conflicts that frankly scare me in

    their potential to absolutely

    sidetrack the entire Republic

    effort. Our security forces are

    inadequate to maintain such

    massive borders and stop villainy

as it arrives. Instead, it needs to

be stopped at its core. Safety

can only be established once all

enemies cease to be threats, and

in many cases the current law

    and legislation are inadequate.

    Next time you see some

    scoundrel steal something or

break a law of our Republic, do

the necessary if not morally right

thing and simply shoot the culprit

and leave the body for the crows.

Maybe with this kind of tough

attitude on crime we can actually

    overcome it rather than tolerate

    it.
