Question/s to be Answered

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002 to request

the following information from your trust:

(1) A copy of your observation policy for mental health inpatients that are identified

as at-risk; and

(2) A copy of any information sheet that is given to patients about observation.

Please note NHS Shetland serves a population of approximately 23,000 residents

and operates only one District General Hospital that is designed to address the

needs of the remote and rural population. As such Gilbert Bain Hospital in Lerwick

does not currently perform this service. As there are no Mental Health Inpatient

Facilities in Shetland, any Shetland resident requiring in-patient Mental Health stay is

normally referred to NHS Grampian.
