From the Principal’s Desk…… The end of Term 3 is almost here. It has been a busy ten weeks and we would like to thank
you all for your generous support of learning and extra-curricular activities here at
Freemans Reach Public School. We wish you all a very relaxing Spring Break. The weather is
warming up so I am sure there will be plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors with
family and friends. Thank you to our school staff, who have worked very hard to provide
engaging learning experience for their students. I hope they will make time for their families
and friends before resuming their planning for Term 4.
There is no pupil free day at the beginning of Term 4. All students will resume school on
Monday 15th October 2018.
See you all then!
Kind regards,
Mrs Cheryl Walker

BUSHFIRE PLAN
With the bushfire season upon us early, we have
reviewed our Bushfire Emergency Management
Plan. In the event of a bushfire threat, our first
action is to follow the instructions of emergency
services. Should we need to evacuate before
buses arrive, we will head to the oval of
Hawkesbury High School. If buses are then
delayed, we will walk down Hibberts Lane to the
lowlands where we will meet buses and proceed
to Macquarie Park, just near the Windsor Bridge.
If a bushfire is upon us with no warning and we
need to shelter onsite, we will use our school hall,
which is equipped with water and other
emergency supplies.
At all times we will attempt to maintain contact
with families via ENews and our Face book page.
If you are able, please make sure you are
members of each of these platforms.
MYUNA BAY
Our Stage 3 students are enjoying an amazing
camp at Myuna Bay. I have had many positive
messages about the students’ engagement with
the activities, working together and the fantastic
accommodation they are enjoying. We look
forward to all their reports and photos when they
return tomorrow.
CAKE STALL
Congratulations to 3/4T and 5/6N, who
coordinated a lovely cake stall to further support
our farmers during this drought. This was inspired
by several request from students in each of these
classes. Thank you to all the parents who assisted
the students with the baking. The students raised
$284.40, which is being forwarded to Hawkesbury
Hay Runners a local charity, who are shipping out
supplies to our farmers.
REMEBRANCE DAY 2018
This year marks the centenary of WW1. The
Windsor RSL will be running the commemorative
service on Sunday November 11th at McQuade
Park in Windsor, commencing at 10.40am. Our
school will support this service in attending and
laying a wreath. For this year, there will be no
service held at Freemans Reach Memorial.
2019 PLANNING
I am aware that it is still a long way off, but we are
now planning for 2019. If you know that you will
be moving and not returning to us next year,
please let us know ASAP. Also, if you know of
families who are moving into the area with school
age children please ask them to call in and speak
with our office staff about school enrolment.
