Alliance Française Rotterdam is part of a global network. Because we aim to familiarize our students with the French language in the shortest possible time, French is the language of instruction during all our courses. Improvement of oral fluency is the central purpose of our teaching methodology.

THE COMMON EUROpEAN FRAMEWORK OF REFERENCE FOR LANGUAGES is a guideline used to describe achievements of learners of foreign languages across Europe. The following six reference levels are widely accepted:

We use the European Framework of Reference as basisfor determining your entering level. All our General French classes are concluded by a final assessment. A sufficient score is awarded by a certificate of Alliance Française Rotterdam according to the level you have attained within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

Alliance Française Rotterdam wins museum Night Prize!Alliance Française Rotterdam won the Golden Moon for its contribution to the 2010 Rotterdam Museum Night. This year’s theme was XS/XL. The jury greatly complimented the professional approach and atmosphere of Alliance Française Rotterdam.Nor did we allow the Grand Départ of the tour de France to pass by unnoticed. We organised a well-attended Tour Night with cycling specialists and a wine-tasting event.The Fête de la musique is a French festival held on the longest day of the year (June 21). This year we celebrated it together with our students and French chanson adepts. And of course art lovers received their fair share this year with an interesting lecture on the Yves Saint Laurent private art collection and several exhibitions. This course year we are pleased to be able to offer you a fine cultural programme again!
