HE GREAT ESCAPE, ENLISTED RECREATION CENTERHome Away From Home” for all active duty and reservist enlisted service members stationed and visiting MCAS Miramar. The Great Escape is a non

cohol and non-tobacco recreation center created as an alternative to the enlisted club. The facility is located in The HUB, Bldg. 5305 which is in clroximity of the enlisted barracks. The Great Escape not only provides an alternative to alcohol and substance abuse, it creates a safe environmenthich improves morale, encourages retention, and assists in developing life long leisure skills at a little or no cost to the service member. The Greascape is open 365 days a year, over 95 hours a week. The facility features: tournament size billiard tables, an arcade with interactive game systemnd the First To Fight computer game., ping pong tables, large lounge areas with 60” and 32” televisions with DirecTV and satellite radio, game tablere ready to be used for poker, black jack or Texas Hold’Em, a foosball table, eating area with microwaves and a mini refrigerator, movie room featg a 132” screen and projector, with leather recliners. The Great Escape has a movie library with over 800 titles. The Great Escape provides monthff Base Adventures (trips) for a nominal fee. Trips have been taken to TV tapings (Tonight Show, That Darn Sports Show, Price Is Right), amusemenarks and sporting events as well as free trips to the beach and hiking. Food can be brought into the facility or purchased from the vending machinet Legends Sports Bar and Grill, which is located next to The Great Escape.
