Steel solutions made in Sweden is a result of in-house developed know-how and world class research and developments.

Scana have a tradition of steelmaking, forging and machi‑ning that goes back over 350 years; we are one of the world’s leading suppliers of long, slender, rotation symmetrical forged steel products and solutions for the customers in Marine, Power Generation, Oil & Gas, Industry, Defence and Steel markets. The company’s customers are dominant players in their market areas who have stringent requirements regarding specifications and quality.

At our production plants, situated in Björneborg and Kris‑tinehamn, Sweden; we have a production line that covers the entire steel manufacturing process. From steelmaking to open die forging, heat treatment, rough and finish machining as well as different surface treatments and assembly servi‑ces. Our integrated process enables optimal performance and a consistent service level characterised by reliability and swiftness.

Products

Scana Energy supplies high quality steel products, applications and complete solutions with different degrees of completion in a wide variety of shapes and steel grades, always to the customer requirements.

Besides forged, rotation‑symmetrical, long and slender components with a high technical content, we also supply raw forged and semi‑finished billets.

The main products are shafts, rotors, risers and joints, as well as forged steel for tool manufacturers. The sizes vary from a few tonnes up to 45 tonnes machined weight.

The company emphasizes research and development to further enhance the quality of its products.

Testing (accredited to the requirements of SS-EN ISO/IEC 17025)• Heat stability testing• Mechanical testing• CTOD• US testing level 3• Magnetic penetration examinations• Liquid penetration examinations• Pressure testing.

Services

Scana Energy offer a wide range of services and specialise in machining of different components. We execute turning, milling, welding, assembly, surface treatment and testing services. We often handle large, long and extremely heavy products and can easily turn parts up to 25 metres long and machine components that weigh up to 70 tonnes.

We also have an accredited Test Center, a commercial facility within Scana Energy offering mechanical testing, metallurgical testing, NDT-testing, Inspection, Witness Testing and Expediting etc.

Scana Energy can manufacture steel products in different shapes, heat treatment conditions, soft or hard, turned/milled condition within a wide range of alloying elements.

These steel grades can roughly be composed of but not limited to allowing elements mentioned in the below figure and have already been applied in many applications such as mold‑tool steel manufacturing, marine products, bearing & gears, power generation and oil & gas products.

Our steel can also be delivered in standard or VIP® execu‑tion.

Solutions

Scana Energy offer complete product and system solutions to different global markets. We have a huge variety in our product and service portfolio and each application is optimi‑sed and modified to suit each individual customer and it’s specific needs. We take care of entire projects, for example, we deliver complete finished machined and surface treated drivelines and propeller shafts for vessles.

Our integrated production facilities include both melting/pro‑duction of steel, heat treatment, machining and assembly of steel components. This gives us an unique advantage which allows us to adjust our operations to meet customer require‑ments and offer complete steel solutions.

Project Management and Engineering

When you buy a complete solution we appoint a dedicated Project Manager for you. He or she will work together with you to assure project progress from start up to delivery.

Our competencies in metallurgy, forging, welding and engi‑neering are available throughout the project execution. We prepare and optimize each order to meet the customer needs and are continuously involved in R&D work to improve mate‑rial properties and production efficiency.

Quality assurance

Our quality is evaluated, measured and improved by our quality assurance, which make sure all the activities from order to delivery are controlled to meet the requirements.The Quality Management System, PEAK.ONE, is certified according to ISO 9001;2008, ISO 14001;2004 and ISO 3834-2. Our Testing laboratory is accredited for ISO IEC 17025.
