Reasons why a motion to keep / Improve Haulover Tennis Facility.
Money first:
Tennis court facilities add a premium to Dade County tourism values and residential real estate values.
At 10/15/15 Sunny isles Commissioner meetinl~, Mayor Georl~e "Bud" Scholl reiterated the city of SIB officials offerinl~ well above sufficient cash to improve the Haulover Tennis Facility for your county communities and tourists ability to combine a picnic or day at the beach with

United States Tennis Association offered to supplement costs of improvement.
Local tennis facility operators offered cash and assistance to improve and operate the Haulover Tennis Facility.
The number of schools and children in surroundinl~ communities are l~rowinl~ and can have school team tennis to support the facility & increase value to local tennis stores.
A shaded and part indoor Professional Tennis Facility venue provides the only shaded courts in Dade County and value thru int[~l tennis tour and pro-am events.

Across Collins Ave., Where nudists roam freely, and I am not advocatinl~ for or al~ainst SFFB, however it seems that keepinl~ tennis as a wholesome family sport will support balance to the park.
Over 300 petition supporters advocate your resolution to vote and Amend the BCC Haulover Park Master Plan and stop removal of six community tennis courts from Dade County, Haulover Park on 10800 Collins Ave. And bel~in a Haulover Park Tennis Workshop to investil~ate a 10 Year Tennis Facility Plan.
We request Dade County resume cleaninl~ of the courts and on completion, install a Tennis sil~n on Collins Ave. entrance and promote in Parks information. Install sun shades over courts to provide sun protection & sil~nificantly increase sunny playtime.

To date, speakers at the Dec. 1 BCC meeting to advocate saving Haulover Park Tennis Courts are Dianne Collins, Keith Oliver, (Lewis Thaler previous Sunny Isles Beach Vice Mayor), Michael Hart and Alan Collins.
Bal Harbour Village, Mayor Martin Packer, Vice Mayor Patricia Cohen, local tennis club owners and sporting store owners offer strong support to keep the tennis courts open and may speak, subject to their schedule.
We and the community appreciate all your efforts to include on the BCC full commission agenda to "Save Haulover Park Tennis" and discuss a ten year plan to improve and revisit the Dade County Haulover Park Master Plan.
