From the Executive DirectorDear Friends,

Welcome to the 2017–18 season at the Weis Center for the Performing Arts. As we celebrate 30 years of creativity, collaboration and community-building, we are incredibly excited to share this season’s lineup. It’s brimming with some of the most vibrant, groundbreaking and compelling artists of our time.

We believe that art is for everyone, and we’re dedicated to creating life-changing experiences that shine light on our imaginations and our capacities for creative expression. Whether it’s the infectious zydeco grooves of Corey Ledet, the fiery percussive footwork of Che Malambo, the brilliance and majesty of the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, the gentle rhythms and subtle nuances of traditional hula dance, the kid hip-hop beats of Secret Agent 23 Skidoo or our loving tribute to Pennsylvania’s own Martin Guitar, the Weis Center promises to transport you to countries and cultures both near and far.

We wholeheartedly embrace the essential experience of sharing with people from different backgrounds, with different life experiences and alternative points of view. Underlying our commitment to diversity is mutual trust, respect and openness to many perspectives.

As always, our 2017–18 season is the synthesis of many cultures, styles and aesthetic points of view as we celebrate artistic expression from all over the world as well as from just down the road. The Weis Center for the Performing Arts is a shining treasure in central Pennsylvania, and we invite you to discover and re-discover its rich tradition of cultural exchange and artistic expression. Whether you’re exploring the center for the first time or if you’ve been a longtime friend, there’s never been a better time to experience the Weis Center. We look forward to enjoying the ride with you!

With warmest regards,

Kathryn Maguet
