Ken was born in Aberdeen raised here and graduated from Weatherwax High School. He was married six times and has one child. Ken was a me- chanic and worked for most of the new car dealer- ships in the area from 1977 until 2005. During that time he went in the Army and spent time in Viet Nam and Germany. Because of a motorcycle accident that broke both legs from the knees down and his back in four places when he was younger he had to quit work in 2005. Ken suffers from being bipolar and schizophrenic and was off his meds when he did all the bad stuff. He also had burned a lot of bridges around town and C.C.A.P. wouldn’t let him back in the building. When he was released from jail the D.O.C. made arrangements for him to come to the Mission and he accepted Jesus into his life. God has been making drastic changes in him daily. I have no idea how long the Mission has been having Christmas Parties for the low income and homeless and given gifts. Sears Teams With UGM

On Sunday December, 13 Pastor Dave Arnot of the Grays Harbor Evangelical Church baptized two of the residents of the Union Gospel Mission.

Ken Monday accepted Christ into his life and wanted to continue in his walk by being bap-

tized. James Horack knew Christ when he came in and also wanted to continue with his walk by being bap-tized.

It is always fulfilling to see men’s lives changed as God works in their hearts. Ken has also de-cided that he wants to join the New Foundation Pro-gram.

Sherry Corbey, man-ager of Sears offered to team with us to help meet the needs of those in need during their Friends and Family Sale. Many shoppers gave blankets, coats, socks and many other articles of clothing. We would like to thank Sears and donors for caring for those in need.

Happy New Year! I saw a Frank and Earnest cartoon the other day, in it one was saying to the other , "No wonder we're in such a mess the Old Year never hangs around to tell the New Year how to do things". I think that is the way a lot of us are, we never look back to see the mistakes we made or the things we did right. If we did perhaps it would help us make fewer mistakes as we live our lives.

I once had a friend I never really considered too bright, but he did come up with a statement that was quite good. He said, '' We need to learn from other people's mis-takes because we don't have enough time to make them all ourselves". As we enter the New Year maybe we should take time to look back at the past year, and perhaps, see things that would make our lives easier. The most important help to make our life smoother is to ask God to guide us in our lives. The Bible tells that He is the Beginning and the End and He knows all about us, if this is true who better could give us direction? I pray that you have a HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR!!!
