CHURCH NEWS
• CALL TO PRAYER This morning we begin “A Call to
Prayer”. Following the dismissal of the morning
services, folks will gather at the left front of the
auditorium to pray for those coming with prayer
needs. This will be an on-going ministry the second
Sunday of each month. • SERVE CENTRAL If you have a desire to serve in the
church, or if you just want to know how you are
wired to serve God, attend Serve Central next
Sunday, March 10th at 9:30am at HomePointe.
• COMPANY’S COMING! Help us spruce up the place
March 21-23 as we paint, fix & clean inside & out to
get ready for Easter. Come anytime after 8am! This
is a great opportunity for S.S. classes, families or
individuals. See Cary Smith for details. Donuts &
coffee will be available.
• CANCER CARE is being suspended until further
notice. We are looking for someone who can and
will lead out in this ministry. If you have walked this
journey and feel God prompting you to take a
leadership role in CancerCare, please see Pastor
Jay. We will announce when this support group
will resume.
PRESCHOOL/CHILDRENS MINISTRY
• CHILDREN’S EASTER CELEBRATION March 31st at
9:30 & 11:00am in the Chapel. For all children grades
K-6.
“The Bible” Miniseries
This morning we will look at Part II of the series,
“Conquest and Kingdom.” In particular, we will
study one of the most famous stories in all of the
Bible, David and Goliath, and see how God
enables us to face our greatest challenges.
Mission Reports
Central Asia – daily reports are that the
group is doing well and working on several
different projects. Opportunities have
opened up to share the Gospel with some of the people.
India – pray for Stephen and Emily Eenigenberg, Sophie and
Stacy who left Thursday morning for a mission trip to India
where Stephen’s parents work as field personnel.
Tennessee – pray for Randy and Stacie Maxey who are serving
at an inner city mission this week.
New Hilltop Building
The church approved a recommendation Wednesday
night to construct a new building on Hilltop that will house
additional adult education space. The estimated cost of the
project is $400,000. As of Wednesday night, the Finance
Committee appropriated $50,000 from last year’s surplus and
a family donated $100,000 toward the project. Thursday I was
contacted by another one of our families who gave another
$50,000. We are halfway there! This morning I am going to
issue a challenge to the rest of us to give the rest for the
project by Easter Sunday. I thank God to be blessed to pastor
such a loving, faithful church.
