Hi everyone, Welcome back to Term 2. I hope you all had a relaxing holiday break. During the holidays some of our staff have been very busy getting our Loose Parts Play bins ready for the Discovery Playground. We’ve been and collected some materials that children will be able to take out into the playground for recess and lunchtime. These materials will then be stored away overnight. Through the generous donation from our P & C last term we have been able to purchase some medium sized bins to store our equipment in which has been fantastic. Further information abut how you can help us with this play project for Loose Parts in included with this newsletter so please check it out. We’ll keep you posted with our progress as the term goes on. We’ve returned to a bit of cooler weather at the moment so please remember to put your child’s name on their school jumpers so they can be returned when they are left around the school. Please remember that in and around the school grounds is a SMOKE FREE ZONE. Take care,
Jayne Gorbould

IMPORTANT NUMBERS AND DATES FOR YOU TO KEEP ON THE FRIDGE
This Morning, Thursday 28th April we held our 2016 ANZAC School service. We had great attendance and would like to congratulate Mr Michael Borrett on becoming our Adopted Digger for 2016. The school Choir sang beautifully and we were lucky to be able to welcome ex Endeavour pupil Ethan Lamont to play the trumpet and also Lachlan Ceasar who performed Navy Cadet Duties for the service. I would also like to extend my thanks to the Endeavour choir pupils and their families for supporting the School and the Local Community at the Port Kennedy Dawn Service on ANZAC Day. It was fantastic to see both Endeavour Schools and Comet Bay Primary School come together for a special performance of our National Anthems. Again we had a fantastic attendance and this would not have been possible without your support. Suzanne Waddell DSTA

from Assembly held on 7th April 2016
A big THANK YOU and well done to our Senior Choir members who sang at the ANZAC Day dawn service, held at the Veteran's Memorial Park, Port Kennedy. We are very proud of you and the students from Comet Bay Primary School Choir for serving your community and being so thoughtful of our armed service men and women, past and present. We are extremely grateful to the Totally and Partially Disabled Veterans of Western Australia for giving us this special opportunity and look forward to helping out again next year. Peter Combe, a famous Australian music star, will be performing for Pre Primary to Year 4 students on Monday, 16th May. Notes and yellow payment envelopes have been sent home but if you require another, they are available at the front office. Parents and toddlers may come along and sit at the back of the assembly area, free of charge. The session begins at 11.30am session and goes for 50 minutes. Our lunch time dance groups start this term. Senior Group is run by Mrs Michelle Cross and the Junior Group is run by Ms Charlotte McInerney. If your child would like to be in the groups we ask that they attend regular lunchtime practices as regular attendance plays a huge impact on the groups' formations and progress. Music News
When your child wants to show you something, stop what you are doing and pay attention to your child.
Teach your child new skills by first
showing the skill yourself, then giving your child opportunities to learn the new skill. For example, speak politely to each other in the home. Then, prompt your child to speak politely (e.g., say ‘please’ or ‘thank you’), and praise your child for their efforts.

Community Notices
Please check the noticeboard outside the staffroom regularly for
community events and sporting information received by the schools.
Notices in the Community Advertising section are inserted for your
information. The schools are not associated with any of these groups or
businesses.
Endeavour Schools have EFTPOS facilities available in the front office. This facility can
be used for payments over $5 such as contributions, swimming lessons or
excursions. Smaller amounts must go through the class money books.
Parents are encouraged to make payments in
advance for any future expenses such as swimming lessons, incentivals and excursions.
These payments will be held as credit in your
child’s account and then allocated against excursions as they occur.
Payment can be made by cash, EFTPOS or direct deposit. Credit card payments can be made over
the phone as well as in the office.
A change to our payment plan policy will mean that all incursions / excursions will need to be paid IN FULL before the due date otherwise your child
may not be eligible to attend.
If you require any more information, please see the front office.
