Good choice of item for repurposing:

The window was salvaged from a church that was being torn down in the 1980’s. The church was originally built in the 1930’s. The window has been stored in a barn since.

More than one repurposed item in one product:

With the exception of the metal shelf brackets, mounting / fastening brackets, white spray paint, and printed photos, every item is repurposed and/or unused from our homes. This includes the window frame, original window catch, coat hooks, wooden shelf, metal decorative furniture nail pins, burlap fabric, grey paint, chalkboard paint, wood screws, jute rope, grapevine wreath, and miniature wooden clothespins.

Use of embellishments:

Embellishments used include the metal furniture nail pins, burlap, metal coat hooks, jute rope, and grapevine wreath.

Sanding, painting, staining:

The window and the wooden shelf were both sanded down, and repainted. The window frame is painted grey, and the wooden shelf is painted white. In addition, three window panes were painted with black chalkboard paint.

Gluing, stapling, sawing:

The wooden shelf was sawed to fit the size of the frame, attached with wood glue, and reassured with wood screws. The burlap, metal pins, and jute rope were applied with hot glue.

Application or use of decorative hardware:

Decorative hardware include the metal coat hooks and metal furniture nails (pins removed, glued onto the burlap.)

Application or use of construction hardware:

Construction hardware is the wood screws used to attach the metal brackets to the frame and shelf, and mounting brackets (D-ring hangers) to the back of the frame.

Wiring or fastening with various mediums:

Items used to secure the different parts of the window include wood screws, wood glue, and hot glue.
