Students receive an employer-funded scholarship for the duration of the cadetship. Cadetships occur during the mid-year (winter) or end-of-year (summer) holiday period. Programs can also be structured as part-time, semester or year-long placements.

This hones their skills, while developing a greater understanding of workplace expectations, career paths and even specialisations. It can also help identify postgraduate projects.The Industry Cadetship team monitor and visit each student during placements, to ensure satisfaction from both the cadet and the supervisor, and to gather feedback to improve the overall program.
