When most other Ku and Ka VSAT antenna fail during heavy rains or snow, FTI sends a signal down to the Ku Band BUC on your antenna over our C Band link, telling the Ku Band BUC to increase its transmit power until the weather condition or

disturbance subsides.

FTI is the only Satellite provider in the industry that makes use of a patented C/Ku Band antenna.

This allows us to maintain a service reliability rating of 99.95% or less than 40 minutes of outage per year.

iDirect 5100 Internet Router

The Satellite signal is delivered to the iDirect 5100 Satellite Router over a special RG-6 cable from the antenna. This router was specifically designed to work on the iDirect Satellite network. Its primary goal is to reduce latency and jitter associated with other Satellite platforms. We have successfully deployed several VOIP services over our network with excellent results.

The Dell Smart Switch provides connectivity to the 5100 router, the servers, the NetEqualizer, the CMTS and other components provided by FTI and the customer to insure that we have maintenance views and control of all components.

The Proxy Server provides management Access and control of IP and MAC Addressing, DHCP and surfing history For improved bandwidth utilization. Web Sites already in history do not use bandwidth when called up by users.

The E-mail server is a “crucial” component of bandwidth efficiency. This server allows you to store e-mail as it arrives and holds it for delivery when the user requests it. The special Interface keeps all traffic inside your system without needing to wait for download from the internet (or use valuable bandwidth during peak times.) It will allow your users to receive and send e-mail ten times faster than T1service.

NetEqualizer

The NetEqualizer helps you control network Hogs and abusers to insure that all users are treated fairly. It also allows you to block or throttle abusers until they comply with your Fair Access Policy. Warnings can be set for abuse and individual abusers can be identified immediately and dealt with. Another way the FTI “Systems Approach” is working for you 24 hours a day.

The CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) delivers the internet to the cable modem at the end user address. In the case of a non-cable connection It is Not required.
